OK.

Get ready for the next attack. Roughly late Afternoon, onwards, and into the following Day.

Social Media comments from mostly Liverpool and United fans, along with picture’s of an empty parade route, with only 50,000 City fans being there. ;-)
That’s why i’ve got this close by to fire back at the ****s.

Sportwashing?

More made up fucking twitter shite pmsl.

That's one of the crazy things - sportswashing isn't a genuine policy. It's never been reported as an actual strategy of the gulf states by anyone who would know about their policies. It's just guess work trying to find motivation for investing in sport, and it's mad because it's so after the fact. People talk about Sheikh Mohammed sportswashing, when actually he was just a bored 20 something billionaire who bought a horse because he rode them as a kid, it won, and he got addicted to winning.

There was no mention of sportwashing, it was just a billionaire enjoying his plaything.

The word doesn't even seem to have existed until 2015, 30+ years later.

Now I'm not denying the existence of soft power etc. but anyone who follows football can probably tell you that owning manchester city has done nothing but shine a light on the problems of the UAE. 11 years ago football fans only thoughts of the UAE was that footballers went to Dubai on holiday, now most followers of the most popular sport in the world talk about human rights abuses in qatar and the uae. If sportswashing was ever a deliberate tactic, it failed a long time ago.

Martin Samuel has just written a very strong article in our favour - "Nobody's laughing now as Manchester City become the "biggest and best"" in the Mail

The insidious unspoken agenda and goal behind this witch hunt is to make it politically unviable and untenable for Sheikh Mansour to continue as our owner. They are trying to bring it to a point where any association with MCFC is considered to be a negative image wise rather than a positive one. They are trying to create a situation where he thinks "fuckitt", it's not worth the shit anymore and does what they have been predicting from day one he will do.

He does but remember it’s an investment.

Those millions are easy to sell and whilst I don’t agree with the poster you quoted, there is always an out.

For the record I fully expect he will stay and if he doesn’t, it’ll not matter a jot.

For me they've overplayed their hand. The whole lot of the shown there is an agenda to get City they have sunk to such depths that they can't hide behind their weak excuse of City fans being paranoid, their recently found concerns about selective human rights or their recent realisation that a club buying good players and winning in style will be the downfall of football. I am now beyond their bullshit, I will not waste a second of what our club is achieving on their vindictive crap. Any fool with a laptop these days can call themselves a journalist if they want to sell their souls for clickbait and backslapping from oppositions fans so be it. They judge the club over FFP yet they don't understand it themselves. The club and fans should not allow ourselves to be judged by idiots who know nothing about nothing. It's only my opinion but I now feel we are giving them to much attention, rising to there bait thus letting them feel that they matter. We need to accept we will never be given the credit we deserve but to be honest do we really need their approval or acceptance personally I don't think so.

I’ve been of this view for a couple of years now, have previously posted about it as well, all about trying to wear us down and hoping that as you say ahh fuck this shit I’m selling up,it’s all they have left,I’ve never seen such a constant and sustained attack on a football club in all my time as a supporter..The article by Martin Samuel posted by waspish sums it up perfectly...

I think Pep will end up being hounded out of England by the media. He handled the ambush question poorly yesterday and the media pack will see that as a sign of weakness to eat away at.

On the contrary, I thought he was brilliant and made the guy look extremely disrespectful.

At the moment the City venom is fuelled by the bitter jealousy of the Man Utd and Liverpool fan-base. The media calculates that it's economically advantageous to piss City fans off and feed the Liverpool\Man Utd axis, but as City grow in size, and Utd shrink, the material basis for the enmity will decline. Problem is it's a slow process, and not guaranteed to continue. At some point a tipping point will arrive when the media starts to treat us in the same way they treat Utd and Liverpool.

There's no doubt that City's relative economic weight in Europe is growing, and at some point a tipping point will arrive when the media starts to treat us in the same way they treat Utd and Liverpool.
And when that day comes, I still won't click their links or buy their papers.
