Prosecutors are charging the main culprit with attempted murder, two more charged with grievous bodily harm. Main culprit experienced martial artist who runs a a martial arts gym in Gelsenkirchen and formal leader of their radical Ultras group Hugo’s. Received a suspended nine month sentence for grievous bodily harm in 2014 and is being accused of intentionally trying to use the victim’s defencelessness in order to kill him.

Accusing the three of deliberately being in the vicinity of the away end near the end of the game to look for and cause trouble.

Looks like German prosecutors are doing a good job.
 
The German police are on the ball , arrested and charged , Murkyside Police did offer their help , they have specialist CCTV operators (you can identify them they are the ones with the white sticks) but the Polizei turned down their request.

I donated some time ago as was at Schalke. Sounds like a unprovoked attack so well done to the German Police for their work. Meanwhile in Liverpool.
 
Playing Devils Advocate here. before i say anything, this is just horrible and im glad he seems to be on the road to recovery. no-one should suffer this for watching a game of football and following their team. In light of this should we really be singing to the dippers about being battered in the streets? do you think we are being a bit hypocritical ?

I think the "Allez, Allez, Allez" song is pretty shit personally, and shouldn't be sung for that reason alone. I don't think it's hypocritical though. There's no correlation between a generic line about "getting battered in the streets" and a specific, unprovoked assault in a stadium. Liverpool fans faux outrage about the song is a bit much, trying to claim it was about Sean Cox which was nonsense. Forgive me for being sceptical about your use of "we", too.

Pleased to say my mate has now returned to work and although still has to attend the hospital on a regular basis, he is recovering very well.

F*cking hate these new breed of Euro thugs. Train like f*ck in MMA, Karate or Boxing so they can attack innocent blokes just going to the football. If they were that hard they'd pit their talents against similar types in an organised, sanctioned fight. State sponsored Russians have opened the door to a new type of dickhead to the world of football. Just donated anyway and hope the fellah can get back to some form of normality.
