Even if we sign nobody we won’t stand still because we’ll hopefully have De Bruyne and Mendy back to full fitness which gives us a completely different dimension with crosses from the right and left. A fit Mendy also gives us the option to play 3 at the back as well which will give us more tactical flexibility. It looks like they'll be spending big again but on that midfield this time. We shouldn't be standing still and letting our rivals over take us and if we dont sign anyone and refresh the team it will be very difficult to retain the title.
Let Gundogan take themAll we really need is a decent penalty taker.
=> Centurions and Quadruplions.
They wont get near the same points total next season. Everything went their way this season. Injuries, decisions, time between matches, media and catching teams at the right moment (star players injured or tired/out of form). Where as we had bad injuries, bad decisions, terrible media, etc and still only dropped 2 points from previous season. It looks like they'll be spending big again but on that midfield this time. We shouldn't be standing still and letting our rivals over take us and if we dont sign anyone and refresh the team it will be very difficult to retain the title.
We will end up with more points next season with the squad we have now. Replace Vinny and a back up left back and we'll smash our own record book.
Lets keep Otamendi, promote Garcia to the first team, Fernandinho can cover in an emergency and then next season start to introduce Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
Keep Sane
Keep Gundogan and spend big on a DM
Keep Danilo and introduce Frimpong gradually
One signing is all we need
Net Spend Champions
Players such as Otamendi and Danilo are unlikely to remain if they don’t think they will play frequently. Really do not foresee either staying.
With Vinny gone it's a definite that Otamendi will play more
We won't 'miss out on' any target if the fees and wages are too high, we'll simply walk away. That's a conscious decision whereas 'miss out on' would suggest we failed in some way.I can see us missing out on most of our targets due to the fact of the money involved, huge fees and players wage demands, rather that just wanting to play City.
The Essex JCLs are salivating at this post.
Oi !!!
Exactly.
To be fair my two kids were born in Essex and support city, but only since AFTER the take over, unlike me with many painful years under my belt.
Never met two such obvious Essex JCLs at age 9 and 12......
I worked in Essex in the 80’s and 90s and it was amazing how it shifted from being exclusively West Ham or the Rags to loads of Arsenal, Spurs, even Chelsea.
In an exile down hear and I’m telling you now, my boy was the only city fan when he started school and we never saw a city shirt about town, when we did we stopped and had a chat it was so infrequent.
Thee days when my lad goes to training or is playing out there are at least four or five other city tops and now there are loads of city supporters in his school. He has constant arguments with them telling them ‘they have now connection to manchester so shouldn’t support city’ [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] apparently he is in right having family from manchester lol
I got serious shit when I lived down there - mind you we were in the old division three at one point! I used to walk around in my City shirt all the time - it was a badge of honour!
