Just joined up to talk about next season's expectations but am surprised at the level of hatred dominating these pages at us. Anyway, I think we'll run you close again; no doubt City's squad is superior and Pep is such a great manager but I do think this has been a defining season for Liverpool and we'll be there are thereabouts again. I just can't see anyone else coming close to challenging.

What are your thoughts about your feral supporters bricking the City coach ?

Yep your team will and you have a fantastic manager which I admire but the problem for me is the majority of your supporters on social media are cretins.
Every club has their share of idiots and keyboard warriors but I promise it's not the majority of us!
I remember watching the 2016 League Cup Final in a pub with a City and Liverpool fans but not sure that would happen anymore. Maybe this happens with your closest rival; I feel a bit ambivalent about United because they seem so insignificant at the moment.
My concern is the more Pep wins, the more ambitious he seems to be so we are going to have to be near perfect again next season.

Will be interesting to see what they do this Summer because biased as I am, I genuinely think that a remarkable number of decisions went their way which contributed to their success. The Champions League Final, with the penalty was an example. If you look back through the league season, there was a significant number of games where they played poorly and yet won because the opposing keeper had a nightmare. Remember Pickford at Anfield when the ball bounced on the crossbar, Heaton and Lloris? I think these incidents lifted Liverpool and gave them great belief.

They are a side with a good defence and they are very difficult to break down because in front of that defence they have three defensive midfielders, however this could be a weakness for them in the future because it should be relatively easy to stop Liverpool playing.

Their forward play relies a lot on two raiding fullbacks, Robertson and Trent. Stop those two getting forward and Liverpool's supply to their forwards is gone. I think they might struggle a bit next season to replicate what they have done. Although they got 97 points, I don't think they are one of the Premier League's great sides yet.

If we use scouse pundit logic they’ll only be considered a great side if they retain 2nd place next season.

Another dipper with fuck all self awareness.

Liverpool FC are not helped one bit by their fans. OK, back in the 70s every team had thugs, but not every set of fans had that nasty trick with Stanley knives. In the more modern world, the attitude of so many LFC fans on social media is a disgrace. They expect respect as a right but give none back. Anyone who doubts this needs to check out - for example - the City thread on RAWK. When it comes to hatred, we are pussy cats by comparison. Their entitled, supremely arrogant attitude is beyond belief.

BTW when did City fans last attack an opposition team's coach? Certainly not in recent years, and if we did GMP would be down on the offenders like a ton of bricks. Merseyside Police are either as useless as a chocolate teapot or complicit.

Go away and read the City thread on RAWK then come back and we can discuss levels of hatred, hypocrisy, self entitlement and utter fuckwittery.....!

Fuck me another one, are you going to admit your “supporters” have been responsible for the death of fans at football?

Hate to say it, but with 2 signings (and no departures), they'll have an incredibly solid team. De Ligt or another good CB and their back line is sorted, with no Lovren fuck-ups. Werner would mean they're rapid on the break, could play with 2 strikers, or drop Firmino into attacking midfield and play with 2 midfielders. Could probably achieve this for under £100mil. Not saying they're the best team, but as much as I hate to say it, possibly the most well structured.

We've got key players leaving (Vinny), getting older (Silva, Aguero, Fernandinho), big injury problems (Mendy, KDB) and a few rumoured to be leaving (Sane, Otamendi, Delph, Danilo). Our first 11 is better, but we've got a big window ahead of us. Hope they completely drop off, like.

Thanks for the offer, but I don’t need any help.

I’m at ease with my hatred of Liverpool fans.

Note: Not Everton fans or Scousers in general.

As a city I like Liverpool. It’s Architecture, the Waterfront, Albert Docks, the Edwardian Quarter, etc. It’s got so much going for it.
I agree with all of this. I worked in Liverpool for seven years and enjoyed it. I know a lot of good Liverpool fans but there is a cultural difference between Everton and Liverpool fans in my view. The Evertonians I knew were very like traditonal City fans with a gallows humour and very little arrogance. The Liverpool fans as a group (not on their own) were self-entitled and arrogant.
I know that Everton had a strong hooligan element in the 80s but, for me, attending Anfield where I witnessed first-hand stabbings and slashings was a much more hostile environment. The toxic atmosphere before the CL game was horrendous. Some of the fans I saw on the approach to Anfield were behaving like animals. It was just like the 80s. What pisses me off is the fact that none of this was properly reported by the media. If it had been Everton fans they would have been slaughtered by the press. There is a double standard with the way Everton are reported. I am old enough to remember when Liverpool celebrated their European Cup win in the 70s and Emlyn Hughes sung to the crowds: "Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic." Instead of enjoying the moment he chose to mock their rivals. Tells you a lot about that club.

You’ve had a good season, fair play to Liverpool.
Unfortunately for you next season will be so much harder, not least as this season has been an abnormality for Liverpool.
Your players “will” get complacent and believe everything should be handed on a plate, instead of buckling down and pushing on.
Manchester City have proven their ability over a long period, and will continue to improve. The reality is City are not going to drop below the 95 point mark. So it is up to other teams to raise their levels.

I have a prediction, Liverpool will not achieve more than 83 points in the 2019/2020 premier league season, will not win a domestic cup, and go out of champions league at the first knockout stage.

Oh I nearly forgot, the unrest in your dressing room come the end of December, should be fun to watch.

Anyway, good luck for the upcoming season. Due to the implementation of VAR, I think your luck might not be as lucky as 2018/2019 season!

Strangely subdued dippers at work on Monday, thought they would be rocking but they seemed almost embarrassed at the performance.
Granted not being born and bred scouser's they are less cult like and great for banter and never become entitled but still Liverpool fans.
All seemed to open with "wasn't a great game was it", even the pen was met with a "could have gone either way".
I dread to think how they would have been if they didn't get that second goal, it was their salvation.
One back in yesterday had his wallet lifted after he left the stadium, said those "Spanish light fingered f**ckers", I managed to raise a smile with a "surrounded by a hundred thousand dippers and a Spanish f**Ker beat them to it".

You're a representative of a football club that is universally despised everywhere outside of your own little scouse bubble. The animosity you arouse from fans of other other clubs is truly startling in both its intensity and ferocity. The club you support has a following that is responsible for some of the most horrific incidents ever witnessed in sports arenas anywhere on these shores: including murder. The disgusting behaviour of your fans stopped all English clubs from participating in the lucrative European Cup (as it was) for years and years, and yet not one word of apology has ever been sanctioned by your club. And this arrogant refusal to accept responsibility for your horrendous behaviour in the past is symbolic of everything that the entire footballing world loathes about you.

I don't know you, I've never met you, and you may well be as genuine a bloke as you could ever wish to meet, but I'm sorry mate, you're a fan of a club that I utterly despise and for that reason alone I'm out.
