Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

You lot make me laugh. We have a thread on the media and their bias. Anything from the Daily Fail, with few exceptions, you shout and scream about agenda and half truths. Yet they print something you agree with you don’t stop and thing ‘hang on do they have an agenda here, is there an element of truth that has been twisted as you do on the media thread. No you wave it around and start shouting ‘look at this, look at this, disgraceful’.

Perhaps you should be a little more discerning about what you read. Personally I neither buy or read any newspaper.

It’s about education and accessibility, surely. No one in their right mind would take a prescription for paracetamol if they knew and had access to the ones that cost 19p. But I go back to the point of 10yrs of austerity, why hasn’t this been dealt with I.e tell doctors not to given them out?

I don’t agree with fining people for not attending. It sounds like a quick and easy solution but it really isn’t

I think it will put people off going, they’d be worried about being (say) late and being hit with a fine. There is a potential people won’t make appointments and their conditions could get worse therefor cost more in the long run. Also, what would the cost of administration be? Has anyone costed this? What would be the punishment of non payment of fine, prison? That costs a lot. How about banning them from the doctors? Could their kids get an appointment for vaccines? What about people that miss because they’ve been admitted to hospital? Or arrested?

Or its as simple as a small fine, say £10 and we dont go down the road of what if all the time which seems a constant with brexit.

You say no one in their right mind but over 21.5 million prescriptions says there is a real issue and thats just one simple over the counter drug to common ailments and agree about the doctors but it just backs up the sheer wastage and how the whole service needs a rethink as to how it is run with doctors having to think twice about what they prescribe and why and like any other employee in the world, what will happen if they are found to be wasteful.

Interesting article from 2014 in the Guardian and ive little doubt nothing has changed other that the waste and numbers have grown.

It isnt small numbers we are dealing with here, its waste on an almost criminal scale and it needs to be addressed asap.

I once worked for a charity that provided free training. To ‘prevent’ people booking on courses and not turning up we ‘charged’ people £10 which was returned when they turned up. Surprisingly not many people just didn’t turn up. Perhaps the NHS could do the same?

£10 might be small to you but not to others. My ‘what ifs’ are valid questions.

You said it would solve a problem and I’m merely asking how much it will cost and what are the punishments for not paying - no point spending £50 to chase up £10

Then turn fucking up for the appointment.

Its as simple as card details are took and only when you fail to turn up is the money debited.

People have to take responsibility.

If i dont turn up for a dental appointment its in my contract with the dentist that i will be charged for it.

Whats is the issue?

You’re assuming everyone has debit cards and the money to pay the fine.(My grandparents don’t have debit cards and little Jonny the addict hasn’t either). That’s on top of the variety of reasons I highlighted why people may not be able to attend(or turn up late)

But if it was easy, straightforward and without drawbacks why hasn’t it already been done?

To be fair people who have got in debt through circumstance not negligence and bad credit scores as a result cannot get debit cards and will have limited access to cash machines to take out ready cash, I know people who can only get money direct from a bank and find it a pain in the arse when they fall short

Also can I ask if you cancel a dental appointment do they charge you?

Talking bollocks again in the Times today - he would withhold the £39bn. So we would welch on an agreement that has been shaken on and expect countries to talk trade with us and accept we are doing so in good faith? Secondly he would re-invigorate the negotiating team............there is no team there are no negotiations and the EU keep saying they won't re-open them. Furthermore not paying what we agreed is not going to get them back to the table any time soon. Proper dog whistle politics as he is running scared of Farage and wants to appeal to the far right of his party whilst at the same time claiming to be a one nation Tory.......just the latest example of him telling bare faced lies.

It's an interesting discussion, and one that has been in the news over here recently as well. There's no "NHS" here, so all healthcare is private. As such, every employer is required to provide medical insurance for all their employees.

The outcome, however, is exactly the same; unnecessary wastage on an industrial scale as hospitals over-diagnose, over-treat and over-medicate at every possible opportunity because, well, it isn't their money is it!

We then also have the same dimwitted knobheads who look to abuse the system at every possible turn, claiming everything from a new pair of Ray-Bans to their latest session of teeth whitening on their insurance.

Both these attitudes infuriate me because, just like back home in the UK, the eventual cost of all this waste is inevitably borne by the rest of us. It's about time both health providers and patients had a reality check and stopped taking the piss.

Re-invigorate the negotiating team? His original job when this process started was to negotiate and he didn’t last very long at that. He comes out with some very worrying statements about the back stop and how easy it is to negotiate out of forever being stuck in it. Seems like he is lacking understanding of the situation which doesn’t fill me with confidence he would be a good pm, I suppose he couldn’t do a shitter job than May though so there’s something.

Owen jones can be an anooying fucker at times but he is on point here

I actively hate Jones, I think he’s a spiteful little shit who’s willing to allow racism to happen to get his grubby little ideology into Downing Street, he’s no friend of minorities, he’s a friend of extremism.

That said, he’s absolutely bang on about Johnson.

Or too ill to go? Or forgot because it was so long since they asked for an appointment? Or because they wanted to see the Dr about short term memory loss? Or because they wanted to see the Dr about short term memory loss?

I dont think he will win anyway.

Leadsom is my guess as things stand.

I can’t see anyone who can stop Boris - Boris seems to get away with everything; he can and does say anything and is pretty Teflon because of it. We are talking about a guy who wrote a poem calling Erdogan a wanker and a goat shagger then a month later was made foreign secretary.

Yep, it’s going to be Boris, and his first act should be to sack that smug tosser Hammond

The fact Boris Johnson has a very real chance of becoming PM tells me two things:
the utterly pisspoor state of The Tories
the even worse state of Labour
