Where is the dislike button ??

If not him , who will be closest alternative then from la liga

I can think of Kante / Declan rice from the premier league....who won't be cheap. Ndombele and aour the other options.

Think rodri apart from his abilities , would have been easier to deal with , due to the release clause.
I don’t understand how anyone can say Kante and Rice would even work as our holding midfielder, is it just because they play that same position in a different team really well? The skill set other teams require and the skill set we require from those players in the same position is so vastly different it just makes me wonder what the fuck other people watch at times

U do realise Fernandinho was a box to box midfielder , don't you ? Before he came to city. ...so u think Kante cant adapt slightly to what pep would want ? Rice is another one. We are not going to get either one anyway as far we know so far.

So u can stop bothering what other people watch all the time .this is a forum can post what they want as long as it doesnt break the rules !

You are right. In terms of skill set - decent full backs might be the other place to look. To be a Pep DM you need to read the game, have some pace to react to counter attacks, be able to get a decisive foot in and most importantly be able to pass. Alaba or Kimmich at Bayern might be better options than Rice or other holding midfielders. As a few others have said as good as Fernandinho is - I think Pep would still want more in his replacement.

Players of the profile of Rodri are not common currently else could consider his partner in midfield, Thomas Partey. Merino who some of you probably remember from Newcastle, Roca and then there's our own Puig or Oriol Busquets (No relation)

Pep will want someone who can slot right in straight away and for that it comes at a price. Else you gamble with younger and less experienced talents who will require more time to integrate - not a bad approach but considering Guardiola wants instant impact I am less likely to believe those are targets

You always claim to know what pep thinks/wants,this is a different league that needs a different approach to barca and new players he usually holds them back a bit,not all but most

Different league, country etc. - same Pep, same approach and any of the players he has had could've just as easily slotted into Barcelona. There's a reason why we have mutually shared targets. If you haven't figured that out after 3 years with Guardiola, you never will

Llorente at Madrid, Merino I agree and really like. Puig not so much. He is tiny. We need a bit of height at the position.

Your right. We don't have 2 or 3 players in ferns position who can do what Fern does. Only guessing but I think City may have looked at the majority of the games over next season and realised we need more of ferns qualities throughout those games next season as opposed to Gundogan who can operate in the same space but goes about the role differently.

Hence Rodri - Plug and Play.

I recall B Silva being bedded in on the right first season but City were in a position to accommodate this due to having enough depth in numbers and quality to accommodate BSilvas preferred position further inside on the pitch.

How come when it's Sanchez or Jorginho the fans 'didn't want anyone who wasn't 100% sold on playing for us' but with Rodri we're OK with him waiting?

He is with spain and it's a huge move for a kid,he has to have time to think about it,or it might be as good as done

Bernardo still played on the right this season because he's a good winger. He played CM in games due to KDB being injured.
