Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

Intresting that Boris is actually getting lots of scrutiny on Sky News. Former aides being lines up and asked why hes bring hidden from public questioning, hiding from debate.

Maybe our media has seen how the US appeased Trump until he was elected and dont want that happening here?

Eddie Mare on LBC as of now is refusing to have anyone on to cheerlead for him I.e the likes of Mogg, Truss etc. He’s invited Johnson on, who is yet to accept the invitation, and is leaving it at that

Good on him

Does the principle not apply?

Why on earth would it? Does the principle apply to everything? By-elections? Cabinet re-shuffles?

Sky are not a disinterested observer in this, it's news activism how they promote the idea of leader debates in the general election - they openly campaign for it for their own interests. Their highlighting of that story today when it's plainly about something else, is piss poor on their part.

How can exposing an inconsistency (albeit with the qualifications you have identified) be piss poor?

Johnson is a spineless ****, as his capitulation in the last leadership election suitably demonstrated. This is another example of his lack of bottle and is therefore highly relevant, given he is running to be the next Prime Minister of this country; a fairly prominent public position, I'm sure you'll agree.

Because it isn't an inconsistency. A general election where we all vote isn't remotely the same as a party leadership election, who on earth would think it is? It doesn't matter what you (or I) think about Boris Johnson, for Sky to try and take this line is entirely about pushing their agenda, and not about what Johnson says or doesn't say.

Its a debate between people who want to be Prime Minister, which is exactly the same as the debates ahead of a general election, so there is a clear consistency! Absolutely no way he should be able to hide on this.

Boris has agreed to join the BBC debate but ran away from the Channel 4 one.

Happy to take soft questions of Matliss but scared of taking tough ones off Snow.

It's not remotely the same, and you're conflating two separate issues. If you want to criticise him if he doesn't appear, that's perfectly valid to do so. What isn't, is what Sky did earlier to try and promote their own campaign for leadership debates by pretending it was identical. It is possible to be critical if he doesn't appear without buying into the Sky self-promotion agenda.

How is a group of people who want to be PM having a TV debate, not similar to a pre-general election debate?

Because it isn't a national election we vote in.

160,000 Tory members do. And they should have the chance to scrutinize them, and also gauge the public reaction to them. Because just like a general election, the winner of this content is going to be the fucking prime minister.

Sigh, this is not complex. I have not said he shouldn't be criticised if he doesn't appear, go for your life. I have said that Sky are conflating two different subjects in order to promote their own particular agenda on this.

Mine was manifestly a question (please note the question mark), rather than a comment.

No, it was a comment by virtue of the language used. Which I said was childish and I'm not remotely interested in that. That is your answer, you don't have to like it, you don't have to agree with it. But there you go, you don't get to make demands.
