Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

When's the next vote? - I can see chukka umuna going for it if he smells the opportunity to further his quest for power.

I don't even like Blair, and certainly don't want to spend time defending him, but most of that is utter shite. Sorry.
Tell me what bits. It's all on record. Check It out. The only things that are my opinions are the division and nationalism he caused with devolution. But that does explain the rise of the SNP. The bit about the illegal wars are my spin but I think you will find the majority of people in the country think he decieved parliament and the UK people over that. You may think they were a good idea i dont know? The rest of the points are factually correct. So i sugest you do some research.

Seeing as you’re pushing it, one example of an exaggeration is that it was around 50% of gold reserves sold not 95%. There’s plenty more distortions that I can’t be arsed getting into. Saying your post was all facts is actually just another distortion.
Ok I stand corrected . It was actually 57% he sold. But still amounted to a loss to the UK treasury of between 3 and 8 billion.
Do you think that was a wise move? Still completely cretinous in most people's opinion I would guess. But not for you Blair lovers.

I think most people with a once of awareness in the uk think he was a terrible PM and somehow managed to wrap it all up in spin. I don't particularly think Borris will be a great PM but I am 100% certain he will do a better job than the Blair.

Leading one of the richest nations on earth for 10 years and one in which is a key member of global alliances and outward looking, like Britain is, it’s impossible not to make big mistakes throughout your period in office.

The overall factor is do the positives outweigh the negatives and in Blair’s case, it’s a big fat raving yes.

He was incredibly intelligent and talented, affective and bold.

Johnson isn’t fit to even share the same position that Mr Blair once did.

With respect, you’re a Remainer, you view Brexit as a damage limitation exercise, as did the previous PM and her Remainer negotiating team, which is why we ended up with such a spectacularly bad deal.

Ok. How do you view Brexit with Johnson as PM? I’m open minded, what are the top 5 realistic and deliverable benefits from a Johnson government?

I know labour, tory, though a few less now of both, liberal and SNP voters, most don’t think that, none at all think Johnson would be better, though a couple think Stewart would.

Whether you disagreed with her policy or not, one thing you cannot say about Maggie was that she gave an inch on her integrity.

She would absolutely detest the Tory Party currently and wouldn’t support Johnson.

Wonder which one she would support?

Stewart absolutely.

She wouldn’t have stood for the obvious sidestepping of the Irish border issue on Brexit and the false promises on gaining changes to the Withdrawal Agreement.

She’d want someone to tell it how it is and Stewart is the one doing so.

The number one benefit of Johnson is his utter incompetence which should ensure that he does not achieve his aim of exiting the EU on 31 October or at all. Can’t think of 2 to 5.

I’m not going to get into it in this thread but I could post dozens of things that improved under Blair. I totally disagree that most people with any awareness think he was a poor PM. How you can possibly say that you are 100% sure Johnson will be better is frankly bizarre when you look at Johnson’s piss poor track record. Brown’s gold sale was clearly a fuck up in retrospect but there were very good reasons at the time which I’ll go into on another thread if you’re interested and want to start one.

1. No deal Brexit crash out. Country grinds to a halt.
2. Tax cuts for the wealthy.
3. Esther McVey as Chancellor.
4. Closer relationship with the Don.
5. Sales of tank tops increase.

The ascertain that Johnson will be better than Blair has to be the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen posted in a good while on this forum and that really is saying something.

Johnsons magic will be to ditch the DUP ..... Allow Ireland to go for a reunification vote ....then there won't be a backstop problem
And will it pass with a supermajority both sides of the border? I'm a Republican and a big believer in a United Ireland but extremely uncomfortable with it happening under these circumstances.
