Giving the armband to City legends and/or for sentimental reasons is the wrong decision.
It needs to go to a regular first team player ( not the goalkeeper) with leadership qualities capable of inspiring and motivating the other players particularly when things are going badly during a game.
Vinny was the obvious choice in the past.
We don't seem to have an obvious option but maybe Laporte can step up to the plate?

It worked for most of the last 2 seasons on the pitch doesn't really matter, off the pitch isn't there a nominated group of 5 players leaders.

KDB is always trying to control the game both verbally and physically. I personally think he would be a brilliant captain.

I think Pep will go with different players for certain games, a tough away game he may choose a defender as captain, an easier home game he may go for Silva or Bernardo, that's how I see it anyway.
