The Labour Party

Corbyn who has always been anti-EU is now leading a party who will back remain.

Authentic leadership?

Who knows?
Maybe he's doing what he sees is right for the country.Despite personal misgivings.
Perhaps he's decided that this is the most likely way Labour can be elected.

Effective leadership......?

Albeit late in the day.

He’s leading a party that will back remain in a referendum against a Tory brexit. They’ve yet to commit to backing remain if they win a general election

About as feasible as 5m leave Labour voters opting instead for parties led by Johnson or Farage!

It wasn’t 5 million, more a number between 3 and 4 million and the EU election results and the number of votes the brexit party gained suggests that’s exactly where a large number of them will end up.

The Peterborough by-election suggests otherwise, but I guess we’ll see if it comes to a General Election.

We will and yes Labour won after weeks of campaigning and a huge effort by a national party and the resources it can wage against a party that a few weeks before didn’t even exist or have a candidate.....just.

I think what will be key is leave Tory voters and the brexit party working together in marginal seats to defeat what will be remain parties working in a similar fashion.

It will make for a unique and interesting GE and all this is of course based on us having not left the EU.

I find it odd that this post has been ignored by the Labour supporters who are active in this thread.

Maybe they just haven't seen it yet.

Why?

Triesman is repeating stuff he has said previous, has a long standing dislike of a more left wing version of labour and been threatening to go for a while.

Nothing unexpected or shocking in his actions, whe know where we are at and what is happening, this fella timing his resignation to coincide with labours announcement yesterday is no supriseor shock.

So basically nothing to talk about really, we know jezza is shite at dealing with AS and a useless cockend already.

You see when labour are dismissed this is a key factor, they have a major advantage against BP, cons and even LD that they have a large section of supporters who are willing to doorstop and campaign for weeks leading up.

Even if they are getting pelters on telly/papers the ability to mobilise large scale personal campaigning helped last time to save some seats and gain others.

Whether that will is still there after the last 2 years only a GE will tell us.

Yes, the impact of the BP and the resurgence of the LibDems will be to slash majorities in safe seats without actually winning that many. The LibDems might have more impact in winning seats simply because they're better organised and Johnson will try to shoot the BP fox. But overall we might only see both Labour and the Tories losing a handful of seats leaving us with a completely hung parliament.

3 peers resigned the whip yesterday, not just Triesman.

That is true, with one other Darzi citing the party being racist and as a decendant of armenians, he cannot continue, so as I said, the story is not new, many members know jezza and his team are fucking up AS and we think he is a twat for being so shite at it.

Good on you for saying so mate.

Well no point pretending it isn't affecting labour votes, 3 things that are keeping labour from dominating the polls

1.Not sorting the AS row.
2.The still sulking members of the PLP who are doing fuck all to oppose the tories and spending more time liking shite shit stiring tweets from tom watson.
3.Mr flim flam dithering over being clear what his and labours brrexit stance is, I know what it is we hear it at CLPs it's follow through and leave unless therre is a referendum, so stop playing at fence sitting and just say it jeremy you tosser.

I think the answer is in there but it is literally the last 3 words. Corbyn is totally unsuited for and incapable of doing the job.

Yet he has succeeded in moving the Overton window leftwards. He may not be the man to take the LP forward, but he has paved the way for a future leader who can and will promote a Socialist Labour Party rather than the old centrist Blairite version.
