Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

The scenario you paint will probably have a roughly net zero effect on the outcome. It will gain as many seats as it loses. It’s not totally out of the question that Johnson could lose his seat - although it’s not brimming with champagne socialists, it’s got plenty of metropolitan Tory remainers. It could be a close thing.

As I said, there’s going to be tactical voting from all sides.
We shall see, I have a feeling that we won’t have long to wait to find out.

Of course he’s saying that now bearing in mind his current electorate, however once he’s elected reality kicks in and he’s faced with the same problem May was. Thing is, he’s not as politically naive as she is so I don’t see him bringing the WA back unless he knows he’s going to win the vote. So if he can’t negotiate any changes I think he’ll make them anyway and get the WA passed. Then it’s over to the EU and if they refuse to move he’ll blame them for their intransigence, then he’ll be stopped by Parliament from leaving with no deal and put the blame on Remainers. Then he’ll use the anger and sense of betrayal this causes to win a majority in the GE that will follow.
Sounds like a plan

I think its the fervent hope of Leavers that the EU collapses because that way Europe will mirror the mess they will create here and allow them to justify what happens. They need it to happen swiftly though so as to keep abreast with the decline here. Can't see it myself but its sad when victorious visions of sunny uplands are replaced with the desire to lay waste to a continent.
Think that is all stuff you are making up and seek to project

As someone that is confident that the EU is going to suffer significant issues I have said that I do not want that to happen as the UK will suffer fallout no matter if we have left

And I have not seen any poster on here wishing for such an outcome - can you point to such posts to show you have not just made that up?

of course none have because be they Tory member -non member but a Tory voter - or a supported of any other party with a desire to just Leave asap Johnson is the only one who is promising them out on the 31st Oct - you would have thought even non-Tory Leavers would want to support Johnson to get the win and take us out on the next available date?
Do not understand that logic at all

I want him to win this leadership contest and I hope he will take us out of the EU (though do not expect it will happen)

I have posted that he is a buffoon and man of very doubtful character - why would people want to support his failure in interviews

There are plenty of examples - if it bothers you that much you go looking - I am not your servant.

The point is those who fervently support him suddenly went into hiding after that interview the other night because Neill exposed him still further as a liar and a charlatan.

Just so's you know it is perfectly reasonable for people to hold views contrary to your own and to express them on here.

The irony of your last paragraph!!
