I particularly enjoyed the part near the end where the guy said "Socialism is always more popular with the young." :) That was a cute euphemism. Even the Socialist at the end partly admitted tha "it won't solve all the problems. But at least it would make people feel empowered."
She is right, it won't solve all the problems. It really won't solve any. And the only people who will feel empowered eventually will be the socialist political class who are making the decisions.
The common people, on who's behalf all this nonsense is taking place,will be poorer and less free for it.

As for where the answer lies, it's not between pure capitalism and Pure Socialism. It's rather in knowing that no system solves the problem. The one proven to solve the most though (since the history of humans began) has been free enterprise.
I'm sure a better system exist. We just haven't found it yet. But it's certainly not any of the ones we've previously tried.
