But this is exactly what we tried to do to sign Maguire according to a piece co-written by Sam LeeIt isn't football manager or Fifa mate

anyone else think otamendi was solid yesterday? Got the better of salah quite a few times. still think he's a very good defender when called upon
Your 100% correct with the injury concern to Laporte or Stones for that matter, hence why we desperately need another top class CB even this late in the window. With the arrival of Cancelo, I think Pep has his business done now. Maybe Walker could be moved to CB (if needed) and Fernandinho will basically be playing as a centre back next season.
Otta was outstanding on Sunday. If Laporte gets a long term injury we're screwed.

Hopefully Txixi has been working his magic and will surprise us all.
No problem, Laporte will be there, and when not, Ota is very good in the air
Not if Sane leavesHe will have to be homegrown or under 21

I think there is every possibility of him leaving, but if it's before the Premier League window closes I would agree it seems unlikely. And as there is absolutely no sign of that happening, either they go for a homegrown or young cb, or the window will close.
I imagine it's Fernandinho, Rodri, Harwood Bellis, Garcia, for that job.
Edit: and of course if it's a back 3 sometimes, Walker pretty much plays that role now in large parts of games.

I can see a deal reached on deadline day for the German League which I think falls on 31st August.
Hence why I said I can't see Sane leaving BEFORE the English window closes which would mean we WONT sign a foreign CBDo you understand how weak our negotiation platform would be with Bayern if we signed a non home grown centre back? Bayern would know we need to shift a player or have him sat in the stands for a year.

If Bayern want Sane this season I can see them pushing City till the final hours of the 31st.
Bayern simply can’t afford him. They’ve already spent £100m. I doubt they’ve got £200m to spend.

Simply not true, Bayern have major backers and are a very wealthy clubBayern simply can’t afford him. They’ve already spent £100m. I doubt they’ve got £200m to spend.
