The best reply. England won the world cup cricket, because liverpool won the chumps league.who wrote it?? Yes you've guessed it the echo

I am sure I read a post on here a couple of years ago when planes were not allowed to fly because of the ash incident the Dippers attendance for a game at Anfield was massively reduced. Mainly because none of their fans from Norway could travel to the game.
Yep, and from ireland

Having spent a weekend in the vicinity of these sub-humans nothing surprises me , a word has not been invented yet to describe them.

Sadly, the Echo is deadly serious when it comes to Liverpool FC. They fuel the delusion of the fans.

We City fans often treat the Manchester Evening News with disdain, on account of its perceived bias towards United (hence MUEN). Is there any relationship whatsoever between Everton fans and your city's newspaper?

We don't call it the Red Echo for nothing!

For roughly 200 years Liverpool was a rock-solid Conservative stronghold! In fact when the Liverpool & Manchester Railway opened in 1830 the Tory Liverpool MP William Huskisson was run over by Stephenson's Rocket on the opening day and died at Eccles that evening. Manchester didn't even have an MP then, and wasn't to get one until 1832, not having had one since 1660.
Oliver Cromwell had given Manchester its first MP during his time as Lord Protector but with the death of Cromwell, the ineptitude and reluctance of his son Richard to rule and the subsequent Restoration of the Monarchy when Charles II took to the throne in 1660 republican Manchester lost its MP while Liverpool's MP Gilbert Ireland was knighted!
Considering they're the 'istree club if you ever get into a discussion with them about the history of their actual city they're not so forthcoming! Seems that like the club (didn't win the FA Cup until 1965), their left-wing history is a relatively recent thing, only dating back to the early 1970s.
It did not stop them taking the money off the Tories in the Eighties to regenerate the fetid pile it had become. Heseltine was made a Freeman of the city in appreciation of the dosh handed over.

There used to be a morning sister paper of the Echo, called the Daily Post. That was considered the "blue" paper. The Echo has always leaned towards the OBEAONs. Obviously, there is a relationship between club and paper, because the journos want to get exclusive interviews and news, but there's no doubt that Everton play very much the 2nd fiddle to the Red Shite.
