Spurs (H) Post Match Thread

You've got more faith in the cheating bastards than I have!
Having seen:

still-frame/pic I'm not so sure any more.

If they start making stuff up on the basis we assume they have better angles than us, then the games really gone.

I wonder if MOTD, BT or Sky will pick up on any of this and show this angle though... of course they fucking wont. We've got the refs, VAR and the media short changing us from all sides.

I need to cool off and have a cup of tea. haha

So in essence when you said no you meant yes by your point 3. That was a clear and obvious mistake - not just City fans saying it - many (if not all) pundits seem to agree.

But unfortunately no one else opinion matters....its whether VAR thinks the ref has made a mistake....the ref ruled it wasn't a penalty and VAR agreed .....whether u me pundits etc think otherwise is irrelevant.....var has yo think the ref has made an error and in that case it didnt

Been home an hour now and have settled down enough to follow Pep's lead and accept the decision. PROVIDED the same fanatical, forensic, attention to detail of the rules is applied to every team. And by "every team", I am specifically referring to Liverpool.

On a brighter note I thought City were fantastic today. Dominated spurs from start to end and totally deserved a victory. I feel very optimistic for the season, City are brilliant.
Forensic, I like that description. Forensic detail and measuring to the nearest mm, what's not to like about stopping goals being scored for this. In fact, let's go the whole hog, let VAR, review every second of every challenge and pass and award free kicks for the full 97 minutes

But the referee didn't wave away our appeals, therefore I presume he didn't see it. If that's the case VAR should have intervened in a similar way that it did at the end

Another fucking game that will stay in the memory for the wrong reasons,I called it earlier in week, about I'm done with it at end of season,it may end up being sooner than that, absolute fucking farce, and even though Talksport gets some shit on here, including off me,the first guy who rang up the show (City fan), was left to vent his frustrations, and every single thing he said, not a football fan in the world would disagree with, never mind just City fans

Fuck off football and VAR ,you have started to drive the match going fan away, well done

Taking today's events out of it and looking at the bigger picture I think the powers that be have made a decision they will live to regret. It must suck the life out the game for fans in the stadium who pay a lot of money to go. Two games in and there is more controversy than when it was just the refs and is stopping fans celebrating goals. I honestly think this is going to be a disaster for the PL.

As harsh as it seems the decision to disallow the 'winning' goal is probably correct under the current interpretation of the laws of the game (but I absolutely do not agree with it) - what I don’t get though is why the rugby tackle on Rodri was deemed not to be an obvious error - that looks like a classic case where, at the very least, the referee should be advised to review via the pitch side monitor. I wouldn’t be surprised if the BBC don’t even show it on MOTD

As I was at the ground I’d be interested to know what the so called impartial sky pundits made of it
Ratboy, tyler, harry junior all said they should have given us the pen, ratboy said the ref on var needs to be stronger,on the handball they said it was not clear who the ball hit

Should of been a penalty then not sure whose arm it’s hit
To be fair, as fuming as I am, that still picture is not of the moment it hits Laporte’s arm. That looks to be a few frames before. It did hit his arm, I’m more fuming over the penalty we should have had. And I’m curious to see what happens if it’s Liverpool in that situation.

As soon as the goals went in I stood and cheered for probably 2 seconds but then immediately sat down and turned to my mate and said it's not worth celebrating as we have to wait for VAR. For me it has ruined the occasion and needs sorting. The same will happen for other teams but the difference is that as we have the most attempts it will happen to us the most. If this continues the enjoyment of going to the game will disappear.

I’m sure if it comes off the defenders hand accidentally the goal still gets chalked off and the game resumes with a hot ball unbelievable I know. Add to that the new hot ball rules are if it’s a “hot ball” in the box the ref just drops the ball to the keeper

Said the same last week but I genuinely wish I didn’t renew my season tickets. It’s fucking shit and unfair to allow celebrations then chalk it off 3 minutes later. Fuck VAR and fuck all them ****s at the FA who brought it in to manipulate football scores. Fat ****s

Me too. I was 50-50 for renewing this season - knowing in the back of my mind VAR would largely kill the excitement and flow of the game. Wish I hadn't bothered renewing now and I will be making this season my last. Much cheaper and easier to stay at home.
