Var debate 2019/20

I dont think VAR could do anything with the Grealish one?, the ref had already blown, so the move was dead before it hit the net. He should have let the play finish and let VAR make the call. Our comms said Grealish got booked for dissent, not for the dive, which would make no sense at all.
Could have given a penalty. Had to be booked for the five or there’s no reason to blow his whistle and disallow the goal.

It’s fucking shit

Don’t know why we don’t just give the fucking 4th official a screen for anything the referee isn’t sure about.

Why do we need 4 or 5 dickheads sat in full ref kit in some cctv room 200 miles away to make a decision that is still wrong?

Anybody worked out how disallowing that villa goal was designed to screw us over yet?

Everybody continues to wrongly blame var when var is working absolutely fine and is merely highlighting the complete ineptitude of the refs in this country.

Not just City fans hate var and think is useless, PGMOL have done well to make the decision making and referee performances worse than last season:

Absolutely no point of this shit when nobody uses it. PGMOL is most idiotic organization ever.

PiGMOL is bent it is that simple.

Years it been said, years its been brushed off and now we can see that even with VAR they dont give a fuck and will give or not give decisions as they please.
If they actually stop disallowing goals due to unintentional handballs in the build up, and there is continued obvious bias against City in refereeing and VAR decisions, and we go on to lose the league to Liverpool by a few points (or less), the club should absolutely bring suit against the league and PGMOL for gross incompetence of administration, breach of contract (for lack of fair participation in the competition), and possible corruption.

Regardless of the response from the media or rival clubs/supporters, we shouldn’t just *accept* that sort of manipulation.

That is all contingent on the general incompetence / anti-City bias / pro-Liverpool bias being established beyond a shadow of a doubt through out the season, of course, but evidence is strong from the first few weeks, at least of gross incompetence.

VAR is a pension fund for refs and linesmen Finished being on field ref? No worries you can sit in a studio and continue to fuck things up No need to run around get cold or shouted at by the fans we have a nice warm studio with food and drinks on tap and best of all nobody knows who you are

People don't split the tech from the idiots operating it,it's easier to just say var as a system

Agree with the second bit about the ineptitude of refereeing...

But how can you argue that the current implementation of VAR is working absolutely fine when it isn’t actually correcting any of the inept decisions, which is what it is meant to do?

The threshold for overturning calls (policy) is part of VAR.

Its not just the idiots operating it, it’s the operating parameters given to the idiots operating it by the idiots above them including the idiots at IFAB.
VAR is a system, which includes the technology, policies, and people — you cannot separate them, as they are all part of the current implementation.

And there are issues with all three aspects, not just one or two of them, which is why it is receiving so much criticism.

To be fair to the IFAB the prem are not sticking to all their rules
That is a fair point and yet another arrow in the VAR criticism quiver.

I’m not, i meant pure the technology side is doing what it was designed to do. there’s clearly an issue, many issues in fact but we can’t blame the technology, that’s doing what it was designed to do, all problems (aside from the delay of game which isn’t as bad as made out) come from the human side of it

It just seems whenever it’s not worked how it should, which has always been to the fault of the official operating var,the general response seems to be “fuck var” “scrap it” or something similar which to me just seems completely nonsensical. The technology is showing the world how inept the officials are and the majority seem to want to scrap it so we can go back to the refs still making the same poor decisions but doing so without the technology to point out and give them the opportunity to correct their errors?

Constantly worried every goal will be disallowed. I’m getting fucking seriously sick of not being able to celebrate properly.

It’s ruining the whole thing for me. I’m starting to not like the sport anymore.

I’m absolutely gutted about it!
