I haven’t always been his biggest fan but Broad has been brilliant this series.

Smith prepared and worked on how he was going to deal with the short ball! Guess what Root and the management have worked on fcuk all! Smith knows what England bowlers are trying to do! I would of got Archer and Broad to bowl around the wicket to Smith and bowl full more to leg stump and use the short ball very sparingly, also have archer to bowl one of his Slow balls in too Archer has a very good short ball so he should use it. Why are England like giving up on getting smith out?

Without Smith we'd have a middling chance as the rest of the Aussie team is not particularly brilliant. But with him in the team, I can't see us doing it. Coincidence that the one test we won, he wasn't playing. And, for most of that Headingley game, we were nothing to write home about.

Smith is a world class and everybody will talk about his runs but if Australia do retain the Ashes I think Labuschagne has given them the edge. He filled in well whilst Smith was out and now in the same line up it looks like Australia will be getting 350+ runs instead of 250-300. He’s made a big difference for me

Smith is averaging 143

Labushchagne is averaging 67

All other Australian batsmen - 18.

Somehow hitting Smith in the head turned a 1 man batting lineup into a 2 man batting lineup.
