Your own kindness and humility shine through in this post as a beacon in the darkness :-)

I am hoping that the poor, who think they have nothing to lose, are not put on the position where they realise they absolutely have got plenty to lose & have Boris Johnson, Reece Mogg & Nigel Farage as their 'saviours'.

Otherwise their kids will end up in the army & they will be working on chain gangs to earn their social security.

I'm not sure they are any better off than this at present tbh.

I've got a bad feeling that a big percentage of the public are so sick of anything Brexit that they just want us to leave now. With or without a deal.
That scares me.
Same,i think for ages people have just wanted it over, not many seem to looking at britain post brexit and what it looks like, this is the biggest thing we have done in generations but some people expected us to just leave the next week, that alone tells me they didn't know what they were voting for,not all obviously but a decent amount

Port Talbot maybe has a point, the place is a shit tip and the EU rules would not allow a bail out for the Steel plant, but they do have a nice bypass paid for by the EU as part of its transport connectivity policy. While swathes of South Wales were left behind under the Tories when the mines shut, and I get why they voted leave, the promise of something different is enticing, it may be snake oil, but to many even snake oil is better than nothing.

Seriously if we wanted to save Port Talbot through State Aid we could do. All you do is designate the area and communities at risk through closure and you're home and dry. It’s down to the Govt not the EU. All the Govt does is hide behind the EU so as not to cop the flak. Hell we bailed out the banks in ‘09 how do you think that got squared with State Aid rules? Collapse was deemed an unacceptable risk and the public money tap was turned to 11.

It’s about domestic policy. Always has been. The EU is just the handy scapegoat and we fall for it everytime.

Whichever it was it just got a little bigger through my edit I missed off a 0 - lol

The sane John McDonnell

Andrew Marr “ how will Labour pay for this manifesto?”

McDonnell “ through increased corporation tax”

Andrew Marr “ there are people who say increasing corporation tax can reduce tax receipts and if this happens it will leave you way short”

McDonnell “ I would do it anyway”

Never vote for an ideologist especially those who like to define precisely what the book brainwashed them into, I’m a Marxist not a Leninist, a social democrat, a democratic socialist, a liberal socialist blah blah blah.

I don't agree with your ideology of never trusting anyone with an ideology. I'm afraid i can't trust you as you might be brainwashed.

Hopefully if we have a referendum, some of them will sulk rather than voting for it again.

So both sides will say
"Put an end to Brexit - vote Remain/Leave (delete as appropriate)"

We've hit 1000

Former Tory prime minister Sir John Major will launch a stinging attack on Boris Johnson and his inner circle, calling his chief adviser a "political anarchist".

Speaking in Glasgow this evening, Sir John will denounce the prime minister's suspension of parliament and the sacking of 21 Tory rebels who voted against the government.

He is set to describe the prime minister's adviser Dominic Cummings as a "political anarchist, who cares not a fig for the future of the party I have served all my life".

"I offer the prime minister some friendly advice: get rid of these advisers before they poison the political atmosphere beyond repair. And do it quickly," he will say.

He will also criticise a climate of "aggressive bullying" within Westminster.

Sir John will speak in support of the Conservative MPs who were thrown out of the party for defying the government, including Ken Clarke and Sir Nicholas Soames.

"Such men and women adorn parliament, and the millions whose views they represent will not forgive or forget that they have been treated so brutally."

Commenting on the decision to prorogue parliament Sir John will say ministers are "playing fast and loose" with the UK's future.

"I cannot believe any previous Prime Minister - from Pitt, to Disraeli, to Churchill, to Thatcher - would have even contemplated such an action," he will say.

I'm fed up of the leavers bleating, nearly as many remainers are pissed off as well,i don't know any self righteous remainers just those who are concerned we don't crash out without a deal and are at the mercy of the orange **** given how much he lies and changes his mind,we are leaving that's a fact,it's not black and white into how we do it though, when we leave it's not the end,it's just the beginning
Hi Karen, how are you doing?I thought you were sensible enough to stay off this thread where all the loons hang out. Lol

It could be argued leave have been trying to change the result since 1975 when 67% voted to remain, which ironically was also 17.4 million votes. As a leaver how do you feel about all those years campaigning against a democratic mandate?

Playing devils advocate here btw, but it is relevant maybe.
Good point. Not sure they have been doing it via parliment.

Less of the personal arguments please. Keep it civil, or risk a thread ban. Cheers.
