That is not the point,it's been framed they would be better than us,our record is 18 in one season,their record would be 2 seasons combined record,that is a record on it's own,it is not breaking our record

It’s a record. It isn’t personal, unless you make it so.

We won 18 in a single season. Great! That’s the record! However, such records continue season to season. You can not like it and tell all your scores mates, “we did it in one season” until you are blue in the face, but what matters is what the OFFICIAL RECORD (caps just for you!) is, and how IT is calculated.

BTW, who is their 18th game of the season? Do they play anyone big between now and then that could beat them and NOT break “our record”?!
 
If they do it so what, fair play to them they've done very well. One record that will never be broken is Saturday's one, a prem team going five nil up within eighteen minutes, that is ours for keeps.

Look at it like this,if you want to break a record that is in the guiness book of records it has to be under the same conditions as the original record
Say how many crackers you can eat in 60 secs,you can't put your hand up at 30 secs and say can we have a break so i can have a drink and a piss then come back and do the last 30 secs,you can't because that is not how the original record was set
We hold the record for wins in ONE season,unless they do the same then they are not breaking our record,they are setting a new combined season wins,the media don't want pep to hold records over klopp hence the push for it
 
Just like being best runners up it means nothing in the greater scheme of things except to anoraks.
 
Before we won 18 in a row, Arsenal held the record for most consecutive Premier League wins in a single season with 13, and the most spread across multiple seasons with 14. Both were recognised as records in their own right. So you can’t dismiss Liverpool’s achievement if they make it 19 or more and we’ll still have the record for most wins on the bounce in a single season. Unless the fuckers win the first 19 of this season, in which case I’ll be on suicide watch!
