My instinctive response was a lot firmer than that and would have got me a thread ban.You cretin
This cavalier lunacy is why we are where we are.

My mistake. Just shows it's so easily confused in text.Thought it was quite honest tbf and the poster it was intended for certainly didn't think so or at least i hope he didn't?
Apologies if he did.
How did my post suggesting that structure in the armed services may not based solely on merit, morph in to an accusation that your attitudes are informed by your deference to authority, born out of your service?
Most of the ex service people I worked with were more outspoken than I was, they suffered fools very badly, regardless of position, it got them in to trouble more than once, but they were bloody good at what they did, and were genuinely well liked, so they got away with it most of the time.
I believe we are shaped by our experiences, but we're not trapped by them.
Fuck me can you believe these hypocritical Labour cunts. Jess Phillips going on about offensive language when she commented about stabbing people for supporting Corbyn.
Don't get me started on John Mcdonnel who has been making jokes about murdering Tories his whole political career.
Are people really buying this faux outrage?
To be honest I don’t think he gave a stuff about losing commons votes, Supreme Court decisions etc. All he’s bothered about is picking up BXP votes, and they don’t view this like everyone else.No recess for the Tory Party Conf now - played 7 - lost 7 ( Gove called him the Pep of politics - he's not even the OGS of politics ffs ) he was around 20 votes short. Where could he have expected to have picked say.... 20 votes up from? Oh know - he withdrew the whip from his majority didn't he.
I made the observation a few months ago that the Tories were deeply screwed and in danger of not only a wipe out at the next GE, but actually a real existential threat which could result in the break up of the party. To be honest I don’t think he gave a stuff about losing commons votes, Supreme Court decisions etc. All he’s bothered about is picking up BXP votes, and they don’t view this like everyone else.
Not the greatest use of language in a debate.
Ever thought of standing for Parliament? ;-)

Cool story, but that isn’t what I said and it isn’t what I think. For clarity, I in no way support or condone the sending of death threats to anyone. It wasn't a debate, mate. I'm not prepared to waste my time discussing the issue with somebody who thinks that the MPs who have received death threats were somehow asking for it.
Family at War....Episode something or other....

In think what I said back then was essentially true in that the Tory party faces losing vast swathes of support to the BXP, and with it MPs, unless it delivers Brexit. Or at the very, very least is seen to be trying do absolutely everything possible to deliver it, thereby shifting all blame to other parties standing in the way. Even that may not be enough.
From where the Tories are, with their party high-jacked by a right wing 80 year olds shouting "out, out, out", I don't think he had any choice but to try this one last ditch effort to save the party from obliteration.
Of course what I had not fully factored in, is the extent to which Corbyn would seek to make Labour as unelectable as possible, thereby providing the Tories with at least a crumb of hope. Thank-you Jeremy, I am eternally grateful for your toxic stupidity.

Sorry to disappoint you Dave but it would have to be for Boris.Genuine question mate, because I think you’re a good poster. Who would you vote for in an election tomorrow?
Sorry to disappoint you Dave but it would have to be for Boris.
I know that sounds bonkers, but I genuinely fear the damage Corbyn & McDonnell could do, and tempting though it might be to vote LibDem, that could let Corbyn in through the side door.
My hope would be that an empowered Boris with nothing to prove, would deliver a watered-down, workable Brexit which although bad we'd survive. Plus, as I've said above, I just can't see this whole thing blowing over ever, unless we leave. Even another referendum (assuming Remain won, which is likely but not a given IMO) would not put it to bed. And I am sick of it - we need to move on one way or another, we can't stay in limbo like this forever.
FWIW, I also think that once we've left, we'll very soon be talking about rejoining. Our ultimate destiny is within the EU, I am sure of that.
