If it was corruption, it would be one of the stupidest ways ever seen to implement it - video evidence that the entire audience can also see.

I think the main issue is the lack of any communication post event and transparency. I really don’t mind them coming out and saying “we missed that one”, it at least makes you think they’re trying to learn.

I do hate the way football is going with this though. The Aguero one, I completely agree with should have been spotted by the ref let alone by VAR. The handball one though - if having VAR, or the benefit of multiple views, didn’t exist then I wouldn’t have even noticed it. It doesn’t sit comfortably those are now seen as essentially the same as a goal not being given because the team doesn’t get a penalty for it.

I’m in a minority though in that I’d rather get rid of var completely and also get rid of replays!

Tonight was the champions league. The question you answered was 'isn't VAR supposed to be used to overturn decisions' or something along those lines.

The bar in Europe is lower than the PL.

Those decisions could/should and have been overturned in the champions league.

Yes, that is true. But so many motives on here on why were being shafted, and by who, its difficult to use a blanket response for all scenarios.

3 major decisions against us in one game, if you don’t see it it’s because you don’t want to see it, not because the evidence isn’t there. We can all see the handball, the push on Gundogan and the trip on Aguero. VAR can see all three incidents and chooses to stand by the “incorrect” decision on all three occasions.

In isolation it’s incompetence at best, add the sheer weight of consistency of “incorrect” decisions going against us over a 4-5 year period and it raises far more questions than it answers if you want to stand by the whiter than white viewpoint you clearly have.

I can and do see it, we should have been awarded two penalties without question. But, I'm merely arguing about motive, and it just doesn't make sense right now.

And we should have got a penalty today, they're not always given. It was a huge penalty given the fact it was away from home and would have changed the outcome for us imo

I'm saying it doesn't make sense to be corruption given the fact that the odds are stacked in our favour. If you don't want a team to win the CL, you don't give them Shakhtar, Dynamo and Atalanta. It would have to be the most incompetent corruption we've seen in history for that.

Again its a wide open question. Corruption comes in many strains. Is that refs match fixing, fixing of cup draws, Leicester doping etc, betting syndicates for such as first corner etc?

What are you referring too?
