I know, and they will be answered. This is about messaging before an election and the prospect of Labour voting against increased spending on the public’s priorities prior to that election plays very nicely into that messaging.

The point is that Boris will have a much stronger negotiating hand after the election, if he wins it which I think he will, than he has now. So if I were the EU I’d be looking to agree a deal now, because an extension may well strengthen him.

I understand your point and of course Boris is using the Queen’s speech to get an important pre election message across to the British people. I just don’t have a problem with it.
