A compromise. How about a NI referendum to gauge consent? So who gets shafted?
Us or the DUP.

And as Alex asked before what if they choose not to agree with whatever deal or no deal that's offered and effectively stay in the EU, but also choose to stay in the UK.A compromise. How about a NI referendum to gauge consent?
The Irish objection to the Boris plan was the effective veto for the DUP. I’m suggesting replacing that with a NI wide referendum. And as Alex asked before what if they choose not to agree with whatever deal or no deal that's offered and effectively stay in the EU, but also choose to stay in the UK.
A border poll and a Brexit WA referendum are two different things.
Yes but on what. I don't disagree by the way.The Irish objection to the Boris plan was the effective veto for the DUP. I’m suggesting replacing that with a NI wide referendum.
Funnily enough, if a genuine breakthrough is at hand, I would support Boris asking for an extension;)Yes but on what. I don't disagree by the way.
It's just that a border poll is on re-unification and involves a referendum both sides of the border.
What would the people of NI be asked in the referendum. Is it whether they support the deal or not?
I think a deal is very possible but I don't think it should or could be done in the time-frame. There is a lot of detail to iron out and I don't think any room should be given to Johnson to say we'll sort that out later. If he's genuine let him seek an extension. But he won't because it's all about winning a GE for all of them.
Funnily enough, if a genuine breakthrough is at hand, I would support Boris asking for an extension;)
If the news coming from the Irish PM is correct, Johnson will win a majority.
Corbyns and Swinsons worst afternoon nightmare confirmed it appears.
That said they will still refuse to accept a deal that Dublin and Brussels will get around but at that point the country will turn against them and see them for what they are.
I think Labour will back a workable deal.If Johnson gets a new deal, without the current backstop and one that can allow us to move forward, whilst honouring the referendum... and they don’t back it, they’ll be dead and they’ll deserve it.
I think Labour will back a workable deal.

Will you stop being so fucking needy ffs. I have already explained that wasn't what I was referring to.They will split and many will I think but im certain they will be whipped to not back one, such is the desperation on the shadow front bench.
BTW, I told you Varadkar was a smart politician and i genuinely meant it as a compliment.
Will you stop being so fucking needy ffs. I have already explained that wasn't what I was referring to.
With Corbyn in charge of Labour, you are almost certainly correct. Getting a deal over the line hugely changes the dynamic.I think they have to, morally speaking but they’ll be signing their own death warrant.
If Johnson gets this through he’ll land the entire Brexit vote, which is enough but I suspect he’ll get quite a few remainers too.
So is it worth taking the 5/2 that we leave on the 31st?
It would be logical.Funnily enough, if a genuine breakthrough is at hand, I would support Boris asking for an extension;)
No, any deal would require an extension. If they agreed it right now it would take a minimum of 5 weeks to pass the house of lords after the commons, even if it got ratification from every European parliament in the meanwhile. So is it worth taking the 5/2 that we leave on the 31st?
