No. I'm sorry, i'm not letting this go. Societies fucking crumble because shit like this gets taken for granted. You can dismiss all sorts of other things willy nilly, your choice. But not This. It is far more serious than whatever nationalism, economy, trade arguements float about.

I need you to underatand just how likely this is, and be conscious of it. It is in their mandate, with a majority, even a DUP propped one, it happens, once we leave the EU. It's been quietly pushed for over a decade now. There is an outside chance it might not happen, but the likelyhood is far greater that it will, which is the defult position right now (i.e, after Brexit).
The last eight words are key and that was when May was PM not Boris the Liar...
“Our manifesto committed to not repealing or replacing the Human Rights Act while the process of EU exit is underway,”

There aren't. Forget brexit/remain, don't be naive. I'm not even going to bother with historical significance. Argue it's a price worth paying, heck argue you agree with it, just don't dismiss it lightly as some far flung fear scenario. Be fully aware of it, what it means, and how close it is.
If the Tories are going ahead with such a manifesto pledge, and if the public votes them into power, and if they manage to pass the repeal law through Parliament, and if it becomes law, then there's nothing you or I can do to stop it, is there.

Them's a lotta 'ifs'. Calling me naive because I don't agree with you that it is at all likely, just pisses me off.

So thats the Danes, French, Irish and now us that have got their domestic democracy wrong according to the EU and its fan club?

Not much point in debating this is there?
Nope. Agree with him or else.

And he was doing so well, before...

Macron has just announced the he believes the deal is about to be agreed. If he’s saying it, I think it’s very likely. It just needs to get passed by the ERG and the DUP now.

Macron hopes deal could be signed off tomorrow.

BoJo's troops appear to be behind him, if the soundbites coming from the 1922 committee are to be believed.

Final furlong?

You admitting finally ..... that Brexit was all about removing peoples rights? ....

That's the dumbest thing you've said to me in a while, and there's been some pearlers.

"You admitting finally..." GTFOH

I've read his post and dont get to that conclusion?

Johnson has asked for the removal of the 'level playing field' which was the clause protecting Health and Safety , Human rights, Employment law etc .... if your happy with the Tory proposal then you must be happy losing those rights (in addition to losing FOM throughout Europe )

he doesn't have to actually say it (bit like why you voted for brexit... )

It IS naive, whether it pisses you off or not. Consider my drawing your attention to it respect. There is only one 'if', soon to be none.

I didn't say anyone could or would do anything about it. Just that it is irresponsible to shrug it off. Having a laugh at other opinions/conclusions, ok, if it rocks our casbahs. This though, serious reality.

Anyway, i've made my point.

He can ask for what he likes and we, the electorate at the coming GE can vote for him or against.

My guess is any attempts at lowering standards will be met with a majority no so chill your beans.

Yeah and it's bollocks, and like I said, move on because you haven't convinced me.

*you're

Never said I was 'right', I stated my opinion on how your 2nd ref claim doesn't satisfy leave voters and wouldn't be beneficial to anyone except remainers, and why should leavers accept a 2nd referendum when we have nothing to gain from it?
Remainers had nothing to gain from the first. Thank you for endorsing that we should not accept it.

Yeah EU making all sorts of encouraging noises. Think we will be looking at agreement in principle until everyone gets to review and sign off on the legal text.

London making not so encouraging noises though. Possible the EU are trying to bounce some holdouts in London a little bit. They have Johnson on side working away on the holdouts as he is up against his own deadline. Not sure he fancies the ditch.
