I dont now trust any politician and have stopped voting now for a few years.
I still dont think Brexit will be allowed to happen. Democracy is finished in this country.

I think there will be a lot of,abstentions tomorrow from MP's that have spent recent months pretending to want a deal when they really just want remain. They'll probably have childcare issues or dianne Abbot style illnesses that will stop them voting. Expect them all to turn out in force to support Letwin ammendment though. Expect the can to be kicked further down the same road.

Knock the personal arguments on the head lads, or you’ll get thread banned. Don’t want to pull the thread as people invariably moan, but equally don’t want to spend my Friday night mediating the same arguments between the same people. It tends to sap the will to live. Ta.

The Letwin amendment on the face of it is reasonable enough for say a month to properly debate the agreement but what it shouldn't be is a stalling one to allow others to then keep tabling amendments to ultimately get the deal overturned by any means they can find.

I could live with it with a proviso its the only amendment to be allowed and that at the end of the time frame the vote will go ahead as planned.

Another month is nothing if the EU said they would go with it for the same reason I've stated.

That said and lets be honest, 99% have made their mind sup on how they will vote so what does another month give them?

Ha - sorry - I was aiming my post at people that understand just how valuable the UK-wide unfettered backstop was to the EU - and therefore people that understand just how much the EU have conceded ground.

I should have perhaps explained that
so instead of countering this point you're admitting that your post was only aimed at people who agree with you?

boris wanting the deal through, or opposition (corbyn) to block it, is like being in the box under a reckless challenge from behind. Do you have a shot and likely score, or go down, get the pen, a chance to score anyway, but also get their man sent off.

I agree that adequate time must be given for proper scrutiny of the bill. Most important thing in the Letwin amendment though is ensuring that we can’t crash out without a deal further down the line.

Why Corbyn said he opposed it before it was actually published ?

any chance of a muzzle on the pit-bull guarding the brexit thread. Almost as though posts go to a personal server , at least wait until i hit "send" or is it just an attack-bot?

yeah i really dont have that much of an issue with it and i can actually see that Labour MP's could end up supporting the agreement if they are assured that no deal is finally off the table.

It has to be very time limited though and not an excuse for further amendments designed to just frustrate and i dont think the EU would allow time for that either.

He backs the deal himself, so you'd have to beleive his intention is good. Still, boris not getting his glory of delivering on time as promised will be enough for some.

You never followed up your own suggestion (or my responses to it) re snp prop gov etc etc. ? a bit of a non starter for me, but curious if you think otherwise

Not actually read the specifics of the amendment yet. Has Letwin specified an actual time frame?

No deal is off the table. This is just an excuse for an inch but it will be a yard.

He just says short so I'm saying a month given the importance of the subject but that my guess?
