Mane get the slightest of pull on his shirt and goes down in instalments and gets a pen in the final minute to win the game, Kevin gets hauled to the ground with no intention of Zaha going for the ball and gets nothing. Now someone tell me this game hasn't lost it. VAR, the best tool to influence or manipulate a game invented.

You are quite correct VAR, if we have to have it, should be overruling those decisions but it is not across the board, which takes me back to the main issue of how it is being implemented.

Not suggesting it is aimed at us, but if a system of adjudication is remotely robust I would expect at least a handful, not one, not none, but a small number. The fact that NONE has been overturned simply indicates to me that the system is attempting to maintain the decision of the pitch referee come what may. And we have seen enough this weekend to support that notion.

The one thing I disagree with is when people say "VAR would have given that if it was a Liverpool player". 100% not true. I don't think VAR gives anyone anything, it only disallows goals.

Besides, Liverpool would never need VAR to give them a penalty as the on field ref can't give it quick enough for them
 
What I find interesting and embarrassing for the FA is that we have the perfect opportunity for seeing how well the TMO system in rugby works versus VAR.....

I know they were both shockers but there is a big difference between the two. Manes pen was given by the ref and de bruynes wasn’t. It seems VAR is basically void for overturning penalty decisions and it’s a sham that there is even a check. The pantomime of giving the VAR sign and check should just be scrapped apart from say offsides and handballs. It’s pointless for the rest as they clearly have been told to overturn nothing.
 
There should be a referendum for supporters of all clubs on the use of VAR , and then the corrupt twats who are running this sham of a system would know exactly what they are up against . That would put a spike in their fucking corrupt wheel.

Sky et al incredibly quiet on VAR given the controversy of yesterdays games.

It will take one incident of Liverpool being fucked over which i think we will have to wait till next season for but nonetheless, one incident for anything to be done because only then will the media run with how shit and unfair it all is.

I was of the same opinion until i went to RAW live at the MEN.

Brilliant show, brilliant entertainment and the kids had a ball.

The Deulofeu one on review was definitely a penalty - what should happen is the ref in the VAR office should be saying to the ref he needs to look at it on the pitch side monitors and then they can discuss the incident together -not just talking him through what they have seen. You can see why the ref hasnt given it from behind the play where he was but from infront with that camera angle you can see its a penalty.

The kdb one for me Is harder to tell. Zaha seems to push him but id like to see a side angle of whether he does or not - Zaha's arms are definitely up but I cannt ell from the front or back whether he makes any or limited contact with KDB

Agree 100% on both incidents. If reviewed jointly, there’s much less chance of the ref losing face...and correspondingly more chance of making correct decisions.

I don’t disagree with VAR but it patently needs to be underpinned by more robust procedures.
 
Is there a Supporters federation or something that represents all fans ? We need something to let the powers that be know that we want VAR scrapped , a call for boycott should do it ....they’re destroying the game , we should not allow it .

I have read on here blues who are not convinced after watching it replayed whether it was a pen so its hardly a push to suggest in real time the decision would be even more difficult.

Unfortunately people often take what you want out of a message and manage to wind yourselves up.

It was not the most ridiculous decision as it was not even the worst decision of the five games played, most sensible people would agree with that,

Some blues on here were not convinced it was a pen, with the hindsight of tv, so again not a push to suggest it was an easy decision to make in real time.
