Var debate 2019/20

It is relevant because whether you, me etc think it should be applied the fact is it has not overturned one decision yet. That is the reality of the situation so people complaining their is bias because it did not overturn the decision well that is actually consistent with all other decisions.

Do I think it was a pen, yes I do so the problem to me is the officiating at the game which sadly is consistent with the rest of the refereeing this weekend all though I appreciate this will bother the thought police.

You can scream in the face that is what VAR is there for but its pretty clear that is not how its being adopted so no I never expected VAR to overturn it.

You seem to be arguing that they are doing something wrong, but they are consistent, because they always do it wrong.

Repeating and condensing what i said earlier, the referee should have given it, (but he may not have seen it clearly) and you can only give what you see. The Video ASSISTANT Referee, irrespective of what the referee saw (or says to him) should have "assisted" him, and told him to either give a penalty or review on the monitor. The fact that VAR consistently fail to actually review, or ever overturn a penalty/ non penalty decision does not make it right, or acceptable, merely entirely PREDICTABLE

We may be coming from it in different directions but I completely agree with every thing you have written.

The point I was making was the way the law is being implemented is poor for everybody not just unique to us.

I don't think this is aimed at City tbh we have dropped points through our own doing other than Spurs. I read somewhere yesterday that Watford who are bottom have been done out of 4 points. If you look at the opinion about Var from all fans and increasingly from pundits and the media it is obvious it is a disaster. Mistakes before VAR could at least be put down to human error fans would fume and moan but at least it was possible now the powers that be want the fans to accept that a mistake was made and have the mistake approved by VAR. Other sports use VAR in a professional manner which leads to trust between the ref and fans but football in it's arrogance thinks it can just throw out this mess and the fans have to accept it with no transparency imo it will be their downfall. Fans everywhere are starting to question their integrity and losing the passion for the game and the best part is that they will have brought it all on themselves they have taken the piss out of fans for years but everyone has their breaking point.

correct although I do beleive it is aimed at City because we are the only ones who can stop Liverpool, if we get closer or overtake them then I would say “ you ain’t seen nothing yet” when it comes to var

Great post mate sometimes you have to extend your gaze outside the blue prism. It is a massive problem. Once you adopt technology like this you cannot only half use the technology and not right obvious errors.

When did you crawl back out from under the stone you have been hiding under?

Still spouting the same old shit, the 1% to everybody else's 99% just change your name to contrary Mary and be done with it.

Nice of you to ask I have always been around, observing, but got back to posting more often of late.

Yes still enjoying and debating topics on a forum. Hope you are well.

Mary

Shocking decisions yesterday, they had a chance to correct the referee or even help the referees get the decisions right, and from what i've seen , they fucked up every one of them. The usual suspects were favoured again. The contrast between our useless officials and the guys officiating the Rugby World Cup is shocking - and you can here all they say so each decision is fully understood. It's like our VAR system is being managed by the idiots at Westminster , and probably just as corrupt

The argument about it being about City falls down for me because you then have to question why are they shafting teams who have no influence on City. Are they trying to deflect so they can say that they don't just give shit decisions against City look at the decisions we gave at Watford, Wolves and Burnley. Many teams are on the wrong end of their idiocy Watford could go down because of them. I do believe that they want Liverpool to win this season but as far as VAR goes it has cost us 2 points other teams it has cost more. The whole thing is a fiasco and makes the PL look a laughing stock.

The situation is now becoming varcical to the extent that the sporting integrity of the premier league is in question. I wonder if the people in charge of VAR realise this? Is so, they must act surely? If not they are in danger of ruining the game and driving fans away.

If the game is bent and the results are fixed, then surely this cannot continue either? If it does it will look even more obvious that the game is fixed. In the past, a bad decision by a referee could be excused to an extent because the referee may not have a good view and only sees an incident once. But now, with VAR, there is no excuse?

There is clearly an agenda against Watford too. Did you see that one? And Wolves. And Burnley. And Villa....

Nice to see the dippers not get an undeserved helping hand from it today, but if we were playing either side with those two incidents we'd be 0-1 down.
