Var debate 2019/20

Watched the game today. My observations of the refereeing of the game are as follows:
1. Goal for Rags was correct decision, minimal contact but the striker made a meal of it. From the angles shown, the angle from the side looked more of a free kick. However from the angle more central, the defender poke it between the attackers legs, there was contact but the fucking shit bag thought he as auditioning for The movie platoon2. Fortunately the ref was in the perfect place to see it correctly. (Side note: Pls excuse my ignorance but is it normal that a captain of the opposing team can demand a VAR review when the incident happened 3 phases before the goal is scored).
Liverpools’ goal was again correctly disallowed for contact with the hand of the Mane. Intentional or not, precedent was set in (our) earlier games.

I did feel Liverpool were slightly on the wrong side of the ‘ technical fouls’ decisions in midfield. To see Klopp completely losing control after such a borderline decision tells me all I want know. He is relying on the officials to help his team in tight matches. Atkinson was a bit of a homer today but the main decisions he got all correct.

God help us all if the dips ever get a Spurs style decision against them in a important game.

You know what those hysterical fuckers are like, they’ll do something horrendous if they get a dubious one chalked off last kick of the game.

Fact is, but for var Liverpool win 2 1 as ref never saw anything wrong with United's first goal, and then allowed the equaliser for Liverpool so if both goals stood Liverpool win 2 1 so var took 2 points off Liverpool, yes var is shit but it cost them 2 points today
Fact is if VAR did it's job properly it would have cost Liverpool another two points for correctly deciding mane dived but hey ho swings and roundabouts.

Nope but as I said in my edit, I don't think they are being helped specifically by VAR. My worry is with the lack of transparency though. Come the business end of the season, VAR could easily be exploited, if they need it.
They are being helped by having nothing decided against them till 9 games in,they have had a few dodgy decisions go their way because var has been used against their oponents, helping the rags was always going to be the priority today,it's not good for the product to have the rags in 14th position,it tells the story this is the game they get something against them

Yep and it was a foul, the fact is the ref gave both goals so without var both goals stand which is my original point so var cost Liverpool a goal, but you can't see that can you
The ref let it go because var checks every goal,we had a goal against us after rodders was fouled, that is the barr they have set

Your still missing the point, the REF awarded both goals, so therefore var overturned his decision on the Liverpool goal but backed him on the United goal so var went against Liverpool

Is anyone else worried they'll be gifted something against Spurs now, considering the media frenzy no doubt all week over the Rashford goal???

Correctly,they weren't robbed
You just don't get it, my original post was without var Liverpool win 2 1 but you probably didn't read it as you wanted to get your claws out, reply to people with facts, not if they are in your little bluemoon gang, or don't reply at all

Seen it back after all those replays on MOTD, that’s not a foul on Origi.

He does touch him, ever so slightly, but he didn’t foul him, that touch did not warrant the clear and obvious dive from Origi and it wouldn’t cause anyone in that situation hitting the deck without a dive.

If Origi hadn’t dived he could have won the ball back in a tackle of McTominay after he’s shit touch went to him.

If Mane’s goal had stood, nothing that happened after it would have happened in the way it did as the immediate play after it was a free kick in the United box and not a kick off from the centre spot if the goal had stood.

Everything would have been different. United could have scored from the kick off.

We have no idea if it would have been 1-2 without VAR.

I said in the pub, and I stick by it now, that if United’s goal had been disallowed by var I would have given up watching football.

Atkinson was 10 yards away from the incident with Origi, and had an uninterrupted view, so regardless of whether it was a foul or not I have no understanding of why that decision went to var to look at? Complete and utter nonsense.
