Raheem Sterling and Gomez - "bust up" at England camp

Suggestions that Sterling grabbed him by the neck in the canteen?

They've not said a source and could be entirely made up but thought I'd post it and see if anyone knows any specifics of what happened?

"Sterling and Gomez clashed at the end of Liverpool’s victory over Manchester City, but had appeared to make peace by later embracing.

But Gomez was astonished when Sterling arrived at St George’s Park to meet up for England duty and immediately laid into him again and, according to witnesses, allegedly attempted to provoke a physical confrontation.

It is believed Sterling aimed jibes at Gomez, asking if he still thought he was the “big man” and got into the 22-year-old’s face looking for a reaction.

Some of those present were impressed with the way Gomez handled the situation by refusing to be goaded into retaliating physically and instead taking a step back.

Later realising his error, it is said that Sterling offered an apology to Gomez which was accepted and the pair now consider the fall-out to be finished. Gomez has not faced any punishment."

No idea but sounds like Gomez has been unable to keep his classless gob shut.

Personally I think fucking with the confidence of the only in form England player, a player who has clocked up 20 goals and assists in his last dozen games for England, and has pointed out that he didn't play well for England previously because he didn't feel wanted is a comically catastrophic decision by Southgate.

I would tell Southgate if he drops me for this then I'm never playing for him again. Sterling's England career will go beyond July. Southgate's won't without Sterling carrying him.
I agree .southgate has made a big mistake here . Very naive move from the. Lucky World Cup semi finalist coach

After reading about this for a brief while, this is just a colossus fuck up on Southgate and the FA's part. They could have let the story play out and have a talk with both and settle it, sending Sterling home blows this up for no reason.
