With our issues with limited foreign spots, & Bravos likely departure after the season:

Any suggestions for a goalkeeper that is both homegrown & suitable to Peps style of play?

Its a hard task. Its likely we wouldnt find a hg backup that is as good at passing as Bravo, though a better shotstopper wouldnt be hard.

On paper, that player would be Jordan Pickford, though lack of game would rule him out. Not a fan of him personally, as i think he makes a lot of mistakes.

Nick Pope: Great shotstopper, reliable. Dont know enough about his techniqual ability. Would he accept less game time, in order to make the step up? I dont know

Any suggestions?

Pope better than Pickford but not gonna be content with bench and not good enough with his feet for Pep I’d bet

Pickford is shite.

Use Steffen, and get rid of one of Mendy and Zinchenko. Don’t need 3 LBs. If Stoke goes down, Butland could be worth a punt

Its shame HG keepers are shit with their feet... meaning we have to waste foreign spot on back up GK.

Cant think of anyone young or old that is seriously going to push Eddie for a place in view of what pep wants from his keeper. Not a great prospect then for a youngster looking for a break, probably more likely to be someone who is at the end of their career, can fit into peps system and fancies a couple of years on the bench at the end of their career.

Angus Gunn would be the obvious answer, but I don't think he'd be in our price range nor would it be a particularly good move for him. Maybe if Southhampton go down?

He has hardly looked the part down there.

Just remembered Ron Robert Zieler. German goalkeeper, but HG after his time at United. City were rumoured to be interested in him when Leicester signed him in 2016. Seems unlikely now that he is back at Hannover in 2.Bundesliga.

If either of the players quoted were to sit on our bench, wearing our tops, then Ludwig Wittgenstein Southgate would raise the issue that they weren't getting game time and consequently their England 'careers' would be jeopardised. Non-starters. And Pickers is a goalkeeper very much in the Joe Hart mould, not a great quality to have for a Pep goalie. Pope? He gets a game in our goal and he'd be booked for timewasting within the first ten minutes at the first goal kick!

Regardless, can't be worse than Bravo surely
