The temptation, say, to throttle speeds on a free service can be negated by introducing a minimum download speed. A U.K. wide minimum which companies have to meet. I wouldn’t be worried about a premium package offering higher speeds personally but it would bear looking at it in more detail for potential downsides.

Its free.

We have been promised free so if people vote for Labour it had better be free and fully open.

I heard nothing this morning to say it would be blocked for most content and that a paid subscription service would be on offer?

The 20% hardest to reach, rural.

Most of us have already.

I'm sat in Dumfries and Galloway which might as well be the moon for a phone signal half the time, never mind 4G and I'm on 60 MB/s no problems.

No need to spend money here, just in those ares like mine its still needed.

Most people in the UK don't have gigabit broadband do they? As for 4G unless I go through a city centre it doesn't exist (Well for me anyway) a mate I know has to sit on his kitchen windowsill to make or accept a call.

That's good news then.

I'm happy that money is being put into national infrastructure btw, whether it's the Tories or labour.

But the idea that you don't need money spending in a place where 60mbps available doesn't really good water. To be a major player we need to be pushing the boundaries of our tech all the time.
15 years ago regular non fibre broadband was great, now it's poor by today's standards.

That’s swung it!! I’ve changed my mind and am back on board the Corbyn bus !

With a free pass no doubt, I believe it’s open top and it stops at @Chippy_boy towers were they provide free eggs(as in costs nowt and not free range, actually it’s Corbyn so they will be, so it’s free free range eggs)to chuck at his BMW.

Leave the boy cleaning his moat alone he’s a nice bloke.

If it can run an xbox, ps4, bluemoon, amazon prime and xhamster its fast enough!

The government. Either the Tories or labour as @blueinsa points out, it's investing to reap benefits.
Like the government invested in British Rail? And like they invested in British Leyland? And such a great job they did with our coal industry, steel industry?

Do you not remember ANY of that shit? It's quite bizarre, it really is.

It is now mate but tech moves fast, trust me as someone who stays very well immersed in tech news as a hobby.
To be an economic powerhouse it's a necessity to be a world leader in technology

I despair at all three parties.
Tories - Johnson, bumbling idiot, Shitty Brexit WA followed by at best a trade deal that mirrors being a member but without a say or at worst a really shitty deal/no deal. End result economy fucked.
Labour - Ludicrous nationalisation pledges that will fuck up the economy.
Lib Dems - Cancel Brexit at all costs except ruling out the only way that it would be achievable (coalition with Labour) thereby handing election to Tories

Wow I agree in the main.

All shite, just depends on what flavour of shite you are willing to vote for?

Hoping we get a decent independent candidate so i can go for them but it wont matter as its a straight up fight between Tory/SNP with Tories having a decent enough majority and the area being awash with farming money.
