Rob Harris is reliably still Rob Harris:

"Breaking: Manchester City loses case at Court of Arbitration for Sport trying to block UEFA investigation into financial fair play case"
So now it’s down to the UEFA judge to deliver verdict on Man City’s FFP case and rule on whether the club deceived UEFA. That verdict could go back to the sports court for appeals. Some background in piece from last year (link)"
"The sports court ruling against Manchester City. Premier League champs were challenging findings of UEFA’s investigators (who were said to be recommending Champions League bam). Now UEFA Adjudicatory Chamber can rule on any FFP violations and the sanction to impose"

I don't think the "keep it in litigation forever" line works at this point either as a strategy or as a public comment. It's not clearing our name, and it makes people think we're guilty but just throwing our financial weight around in the courts to escape judgement.

We need the case to be closed and the ruling in our favour if we are in the right.

That's the beginning of the push back against the narrative that we flagrantly break rules. Then you have proof that a legitimate court says you're innocent and UEFA are running a kangaroo court.

Tying people up in court is a perfectly valid tactic in certain circumstances and it doesn't necessarily imply guilt.

Of course City want a final decision in their favour but that may take time to achieve. City's owner's pockets are deeper than UEFA's so they can afford to fight their cause; especially if they bevel they are innocent and will prevail in the end.

I'm a total layman on this subject so can someone spell out in simple terms where we're at please. If CAS have rejected our appeal isn't that bad news ? Does that mean UEFA can proceed against us as they initially planned before our appeal.

What an absolutely disgraceful headline from the Daily Mail.

And you wonder why other fans latch on to headlines like this and hate City. Mainly United, Liverpool and Arsenal fans.

Manchester City 'to escape ban from Champions League' as UEFA prepare to admit defeat on FFP despite club's big spending and leaked emails
  • There had been a belief within football that Manchester City would be banned
  • But reports suggest that the Etihad Stadium side will instead receive a fine
  • It will come as a blow to the strength of UEFA's current Financial Fair Play system

Ami Winehouse? You’d think they could come up with better than that....

On it's own it's bad news. Our appeal that the original process was flawed on the grounds of due process has been lost. But some reports are suggesting that UEFA will not be sanctioning City anyway so the appeal will be irrelevant. And if UEFA do sanction City, we can appeal again to the CAS.

City wanted to put an end to the investigation, so they lodged an appeal with CAS
CAS today have said that the AC can deal with this matter as they (CAS), at the moment, have no grounds to make a decision

We are where we were a few months ago. Nothing has changed. City haven't been found guilty of anything yet
