But it won’t make a blind bit of difference. He knows he can get away with doing what he wants, so he will do what he wants. It’s pretty straightforward really. Terribly dispiriting, but straightforward nonetheless

He will get a nice surprise come Election Day.

Johnson has refused to attend his constituency husting and face the other candidates, it has now been cancelled.
He’s pulled out of Sunday’s leaders debate too. The tories have clearly realised that he has nothing to offer but blathering “Brexit means Brexit” and that he looks rattled, ignorant and clueless when asked any question that doesn’t involve using that phrase as his answer.

questor estimating that the fall in the value of stocks in the uk will be 375billion with Jezza master plan.

no brexit prediction was that bad.

Incidently, that's 10% of the value of every private pension gone. Possibly another 5-10% with the telecoms nationalisation.

At least Gordon Brown hid his theft of 10% of the final value of everyone's private pensions when Labour came to power

They have also clearly realised that it won’t make a blind bit of difference. Sit tight, watch the votes come but whatever you do Prime Minister, don’t show your face or speak to the public

It will probably work and fair play to them for sticking two fingers up to the electorate and knowing they will get away with it. But people will still vote for them despite not having the opportunity to see the policies challenged. It’s effective but not particularly democratic

I seriously doubt it. But what do you think will happen?

Another hung parliament and then a desperate attempt at some form of coalition. Elections and referendum abound is what we have to look forward to.

Austerity
Brexit
Scotland
Northern Ireland
Morally defective leaders
Opportunist marginal leaders trying grab a slice of the action
Fantasy polIcies from the left
Outright lies from the right
Ignoring half the population from the middle

If the people elects one party to rule with all this going on my flabber will be gasted.

If the Tories get in I will be ashamed of this country.

'Brexit means Brexit' is the new 'Strong & Stable'. Heard him talk about the Labour Manifesto and it was "Well no one wants to know about building houses or having decent public services. They want to know about Brexit". Tosser.

Anyone but Corbyn leading the Labour Party and they would be wiping the floor with him.

I hope you’re right.

If it is another hung parliament with Tories the biggest party I.e what we had previously, do you think Corbyn would step down or fight on claiming some sort of victory?

well and McDonnell and Abbott would need to go as well and the momentum lot , but yeah get rid of the nutters and labour would walk it

Mate you're too young to be a conformist at your age.
If you're not careful you'll end up in your fifties like the neoliberal nobhead.
Stop staying in and watching Babestation.
Get out a bit , meet young people who are having their future's fcuked by the Tories, become a bit more radical.
Here to help.

The old bringing up my age as a negative, my favourite part of being on this subforum as it usually means the argument has dried up for those opposing my view.

I do get out. I get out for 50+ hours a week trying to carve out a career for myself, only for political ideologues to try and ruin the environment in which I can do so.

Taking £85bn from businesses isn’t going to help the poor, radically changing the system in a short space of time is only going to put people out of work.

We’re advertising ourvelves as a shit place to invest, as a country of underachievers and a place where you shouldn’t bother to work hard.

Talking about the Labour Manifesto, I was listening to 5 Live before and they had two people on discussing it. The first, who was pretty well in favour, was the former Greek Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis. Gave a very good review, coherent & heartfelt. Then they had someone who was critical of it. They described him as being from the Cato Institute, which I'd vaguely heard of. But he was clearly so ideologically driven that alarm bells started ringing in my head. So I looked up the Cato Institute and it's a right-wing, American libertarian group set up by the infamous Koch brothers.

So the BBC, without providing any context, is allowing an avowedly extremely economic right-wing group to spout its propaganda, rather than have an intelligent discussion.

Step down I would imagine 2 goes at it would be enough. I can’t overstate how much they have shot themselves in the foot with that manifesto. A total misjudgment. Problem is the next guy/girl will have to try and undo it which won’t be easy. If Clive Lewis got the gig if I’ve read between the lines correctly they would have a chance next time around which could come next year.

What's the point in attending your own stoning? C4's debate format is seriously fecked. Designed that way to benefit the opposition of course.

Its a terrible mistake but in the medium term if it means the momentum lot fuck off and Clive Lewis and the moderates get back hold of the party it will be a good thing.

From a financial perspective, at least in the short term, a Johnson government could suit me but I can’t in good conscience hope for never mind vote for him. Labour would make be worse off and I’m disappointed in the leadership so won’t be voting for them either - I fear Corbyn’s legacy will be to give a Johnson government a 5 year free reign. I hope I’m wrong because if I’m right then the country will be well and truly fucked

I wouldn’t say Clive Lewis is a moderate but I’ve heard a few things from him wanting political reform and although he is a strong remainer he at least acknowledges project fear won’t work and Europe needs reforming and leave voters need something a bit more than tough shit we are ignoring your concerns.

He could go on their, defend the governments 9 years in power and spell out a realistic and workable plan for the country for the next 5 years. I don’t think that is too much to ask for a man who wants to continue as PM

I think the country needs a big change and a radical new approach but it needs some common sense to it. The choice at the moment is keep the status quo and either vote for £1.65 a week and paint a few hospitals or throw money at absolutely every fucking thing you can think of.
