That's the same link I just posted - where's the rubbishing?
"Below we outline an initial response from IFS Director Paul Johnson on the Conservative Party manifesto. We take policy areas by turn but this is not a full assessment. A fuller assessment from IFS researchers is due shortly."

Well they are not praising it, you may dissagree with the word rubbishing so I will change it to dismissing it

Not to worry. Reduced health care. Lack of social care. Increased exploitation of the poorest section of society.
That'll kill off plenty.
It's so unreasonable of the elderly to live longer, putting more strain on the NHS, social care and holding onto their homes and prevent hard-working people from feeding the mortgage pyramid.

WASPI women are only trying to get the pension they were promised as they grew up and worked in the 60s 70s 80s and 90s.
Labour's commitment is based on expecting that promise will be enforced.
If this happens cant wait for over 60 year old males claiming against the government for discrimination. Probably another £58bn on the bill for Labour. 2% on tax for everyone. Double it for the Male discrimination case. Yeah.
Labour are panicking.

General election 2019: Labour calls Conservative's 50,000 nurses pledge 'frankly deceitful' – live news

He isn't wrong though the 50000 pledge isn't possible in the period of a parliamnent without bringing in nurses from overseas, which surely their imigration policy stops from happening

The ERG shoulder the main blame - no doubt about it, but a lot of centre-left voters will never forget that they were helped by 98% of MPs (248/251) in the Labour Party who effectively put them in power.

Like Sarah Champion said, 'it's poker' and it's a game the Labour Party have lost to the detriment of the working class for the past decade and soon to be 14 years of Tory rule.
Yeah right. Labour had their chance to push it through, yet they didnt. Hence Leavers deserting Labour.

I did like the line that if this was a budget it would be called modest.

There is nothing in the Tory manifesto. Which is obviously the point and its problem.

errr - because of equality laws. There is no "retirement age" now for anyone. When you stop working is entirely down to you though in reality dependant on finances of course. Anyone with a private pension can start taking it from their fifties - a workplace pension will be down to the scheme rules but those rules cannot by law specify different rules based on gender. The state pension qualifying ages are now all over the place after the Govt started moving the goalposts - I for instance - wont be eligible for mine until 67 but that again is down to the rules of the scheme the state runs.

I was talking about state pension ages and the years of discrimination in favour of women. If you have sympathy with the waspi then you should also have sympathy with the men who historically have not been able to draw their state pension at the same time because they have a penis. Maybe they should claim too.

There were no equality laws then though. Women could be dismissed for being pregnant.

Not a problem for them if it's empty - that's the plan. Just going through the motions - Corbyn's throwbacks are winning it for them.
Still early days, but so far I am disappointed in the lack of Tory attack on the Labour manifesto.

People need to understand that Labour is for the few, not the many. A few people at the bottom end of the scale may be better off, that is true. But the VAST majority of people in the UK would be much, much worse off under Labour. More people out of work, more people with higher mortgages and higher rents and less money in their pockets as a result. More people unable to afford their homes.

Do parents REALLY want Labour's spending when it means their children have to pick up the tab in later years? Is that what parents want for their kids? Do they want to have more tax taken off them so that their children don't inherit as much to get them started out in life? Is that what parents want?

These are BIG issues and Labours "95% of people won't be worse off" is the biggest lie ever attempted in a General Election. Most people understand this, but the few who still do not, must be made aware. Vote Labour if you want to be poorer. Vote Labour if you want more people out of work. Vote Labour if you want your kids to struggle even more. It's as simple as that.

You should run for a Tory position, seeing that you can see things BloJo and co can't see...

What's stopping you?

Go! Inspire a nation!!

I really like living where I do and don't fancy having to move somewhere else because I am allocated some random seat somewhere. That's one reason. Another one is that I fear many people go into politics with all good intentions and then end up being forced to compromise on many principles and beliefs due to the pressure from the whips to tow the party line. I'd find that quite hard and quite depressing I think.

Well, you'd be working for a Party, therefore you wouldn't really get to pick your seat unless the MP in your town isn't Tory(you would have to campaign and put yourself up for nom in your town vs who's Tory rep now).

Secondly, if you have the courage of your convictions, you'll stay the course... unless you're happy to compromise.

When I grew up in the 60s and 70s I knew that women got pensions at 60 and men at 65. So I would not argue that was unfair.
