See Johnson's managed to bum his way on to the Marr show ( with no commitment to the Andrew Neill interview) after the BBC said they wouldn't allow it but now agreeing because of the terror incident on London Bridge.
Don't quite follow the logic of that particularly as Mavis did not appear for TV interviews after the two bombings in the 2017 election campaign.
Couldn't Priti Vacant have done the Marr interview?
BBC have now lost all credibility and have effectively become the British Broadcaster for the Conservatives.

Priti Patel getting called out for lying on twitter by the secret barrister. The independent just said Corbyn has halved the tory lead in a new poll.

Surprisingly absent and my take is he is looking to dethrone Corbyn come the inevitable defeat and Tory majority and is staying clear of the campaign so as not to damage himself with it.
The irony of course being that Corbyn is a Leaver and has been landed with this turd of a Brexit policy by Remainers like Starmer, and they’re going to knife him in the back when it loses him the election.

not watching strictly then len?

Yevett Cooper caught out in her criticism of the early release of Usman Khan.
Oh dear, the law was changed in 2012 and clearly needs to be changed again.

The reason the terrorist was on a "standard" sentence was a decision of the Appeal Court in 2013 after he had originally been sentenced on an IPP tariff, which would have required any proposed release to come under automatic review by the Parole Board. It seems the Appeal Court judge did recommend that any proposed release should have been approved by the Parole Board but this didn't happen for whatever reason and he was released on licence without review after serving 50% of the sentence.

I don't think either Cooper or Patel can make much political capital out of this as it seems to have been a failure of administration rather than legislation.

Good analysis.
Worth pointing out though that despite the legal arguments it did happen under a Tory administration.
PS And Vacant trying to blame it on Labour legislation in 2008 is plainly ridiculous.

Starmer with the same policies would be ahead in the polls.
Doubt it.
The vast majority of Leavers are with Boris/Nigel and their sence of betrayal by Parliament is near total. Indeed Boris's policies, aside from Brexit (contrary to to what most socialists think) are actually the most left wing since the 1950s - and that will help DE demographic Leavers vote Tory.
Could Starmer create an alliance with the Lib Dems and Tory Remainers? Lib Dems have no trust in Corbyn or indeed Momentum, so I doubt it. The policies would have to change to allow a true Remain Alliance to solidify and Momentum would go ballistic at this.
Also, some Tory Remainers have moved to the Lib Dems, but many Tory Remainers would still vote Tory even with Starmer leading Labour.

What are you saying needs changing?
Prior to 2012, release after half the sentence with controls (tags etc) was mandatory. After 2012 it was tightened to be determined by the Parole board or overridden for a longer time period if the judge decided as such. Khan succesfully appealed against the judges ruling to put it back in the hands of the Parole board. For whatever reason he was released.
I personally think that a terrorist cannot be parolled unless there is a low chance of reoffending as a result of deradicalisation before release NOT after.
