Post Match Thread - United (h)

There was a lot of anger today but I'd say from those who had been on the piss for hours. Most were actually quite resigned as clearly we were dreadful and lucky to only lose by a single goal.

We have not looked like retaining the title at any point this season so I'm not as gutted as I have been after Derby defeats previously. We look shot and in need of a major overhaul. I'm up for that and if it takes a season or two then so what?

Midfield is far too slow.

We can’t press up front because if they break through the press they have open season on our slow midfield. So we’re hanging back up front and everything is just apprehensive and unsure.

Rodri had a great game the other night but today again his lack of pace caused yet another goal (their second). I reckon I’m faster and can turn quicker than him.

David Silva was involved in a lot of play but as soon as any team breaks he can’t keep up.

I don’t even care if we have to play García at the back now Stones is injured again, but PLEASE get Fernandinho back in midfield and get Foden in this team! IT IS TIME!

Bissaka had Sterling on toast. Sterling hasn’t got the skill to get round good defenders. Jesus ran a lot but didn’t do a lot. Bernardo was okay. de Bruyne was everywhere... but the lot of them have been putting in disgraceful efforts at crosses all season. Dinked cross after dinked cross after dinked cross after dinked cross. It’s tiresome to watch!

Another poor performance, conceding far too many chances, create very few clear cut chances, miss the ones they do.

Gutted.

Maybe put Razza against fatty Shaw for a bit.
The team appears to have dropped off a cliff!

Come on city!!!! Get it back!!!!

For Pep to say that he doesn't know what is needed was a foolish thing to say. Our defense has been needing help since the beginning of last season. It's no secret to anyone but Pep.
He's won the cups with players that signed with the team before he came aboard. These players are getting older and there doesn't seem to be much "development" going on.
Pep desperately needs to hire a defensive coach. Defense is his weakness and knowing that, he should hire a great defensive coach and all will fall in line again.

Spineless and pathetic today.

I have seen shite city teams expected to lose show more heart and passion in a derby than this lot today.

They deserve nothing but criticism

Very disciplined and busy display by the rags. I also think Ole is talking some sense.

We were handing out 3 points on a silver plate though.
Bernardo giving away a penalty unneccessarily. (Does he really think all his shite tackles are wrongly given as fouls? Has to be addressed!)
Angelino stepping aside instead of just blocking the ball, goodness.

We were perfectly playing to their plan. Bad job by Pep.
Subs waaay too late, IMO.

Our wingers were taken out again. Bernie is completely clueless on the ball, it's a shame.
Raz not much better. Our system is generally outthought.
We need more elements of surprise.

Leroy wasn't there, was he? If so, he's a gonner, whenever.

I didn't see that coming after the proper Burnley match.

This title has gone I guess. Top 4 is a must though. Lots of work ahead.
Regroup, eat humble pies and beat Arsenal away.

CL Zagreb now for the kids mainly.

even though we've all seen how the team's suffered in the absence of kompany's leadership, a lot of our fanbase underestimate the influence of the captain on performance levels. silva's a great player but a poor captain (the exact opposite of henderson). part of the reason liverpool have won so many games, despite having inferior players and not playing much better than us, is they have a captain (complete bell-end though he is) who genuinely inspires his teammates and gets them over the line when the going's tough. much as the dog-fucker did at united, and terry did at chelsea.

if walker had been appointed captain instead of silva, as a team our attitude would be a lot less feeble and a lot more aggressive.

We looked great in the first 4 games, but our PL campaign was over the second Laporte got injured in that 4th game

Don’t worry about that... he’s fucked. He’ll never watch city again but will probably suffer far worse consequences than that
The court of public opinion has already spoken, he’s already been named and shamed. Probably be out of a job by Monday as well as whatever punishment he gets from the Club. Is that also potentially a police matter ?

Our football is too open, we concede 2 goals per game against the better teams ffs, I said it last wk against Newcastle where is the fckin pattern in defending, it's non fucking existent, football is a simple game complicated by idiots, you stop the opposition scoring and have a platform. Peps lost the fucking plot.

It happens.

Can"t really complain even though I hate loosing even more so when it is against that lot.

We got what we deserved today which was nothing.

I thought we did marginally better in the second half but we were still well below par.

I also acknowledge the injuries in certain areas we have had is bound to have some effect on how well we do.

What annoyed me the most though at today's game was the useless linesman who didn't know his arse from his elbow and that prick mctominay for them who apart from trying to antagonize us when they scored the second constantly kept falling over.
