Liverpool thread 2019/20

What's been in their history is dippers don't play great in January and February pre Dick van dyke days, so other than last year they have been known to drop off, never mind the title of this world club competition or that they won it, it's two tight games and plenty of traveling (and going out of the league cup) that will be a tester for them.
Like to think we were that good yesterday rather than Leicester were poor, need them to do dippers at home next match to give us impedus going into the new year.

We were barely setting records in festive time games in last decade though.

Our fans are the cringiest of the lot. Completely lost our soul and humour of what made us beforehand one of the very best. We’ve become a combination of rags/cult and the scary thing is many can’t see it. Absolutely embarrassing everyone saying it’s a nothing cup, I’m not into this champions of the world bollocks, but the same people probably then count the community shield as a trophy.
Our fan base need to grow thicker skin, not going to games to cry, moan and boo. There was a thread recently on throwing tennis balls on the pitch. Fuck me, imagine if the cult did that?

Morning Tom....

Last season they started 2019 by dropping 11 points out of 27.

Who fucking cares? If / when they win the league then fair play, but this is tin pot nonsense.
I entirely disagree with that.

No competitive trophy is “tinpot”. That’s just something United fans threw about in 2001 when Liverpool won what Rags called the “Tinpot Treble”. It’s an arrogant Rag tag line.

Pre-season shite like the Asia Cup and Thomas Cook Trophy are token trophies for training games billed as exhibition games, but every single one of the real trophies should be something to be proud of winning:
Community Shield
UEFA Super Cup
FIFA World Club Cup
EFL Cup
FA Cup
Premier League
Champions League

Every single one!

Even better, didn't realize that last season they dropped off in January
That’s why I’ve still got this burning in my belly for this title. There’s something still in this!

If we get to March within 5 points of them, we’ll win it!

Everyone had given up on the title last season and then 2019 began...
3rd January defeat to City
(7th January defeat to Wolves in the FA Cup)
30th January drew with Leicester
4th February drew with West Ham
(19th February drew with Bayern in the CL)
24th February drew with United
3rd March drew with Everton

They actually started 2019 with 7 non-wins from their first 11 games of the year in all competitions.

to be honest I cant remember if the rags did, all I remember is them pulling out of the FA cup instead of them playing the kids from their world famous academy !!!

We pedal this myth. The FA actually asked them to play the club World Cup. I’d imagine for the exposure. Happy to bash united at any opportunity, only when true though.

like i always bang on about ?? tomorrow is just another day

after you win something its gone for good and work has to start on winning something else or or try retaining the trophy the day after you won it, history and glory is a false prize, and its all about the here and now, and you can never stand still admire what you have done because nobody really care other than yourself

this look at me and come and see what we have won thing is just daft ? and it should just be left in the history books they write for your forefathers to read about, i think it comes from winning the wars and battles and the medals they hang on for bravery and that is what people get mixed up with (bravery & glory)

shouldn't the English champions as well as the European champions be playing in the world club championships

#Peakwank in Norway and Dublin , you've just got to grin and bear it . It's Everton fans i feel sorry for
They're being absolute wankers about it as you can imagine. "You got a new manager but we won this trophy that no-one except us cares about so we're going to gloat at you, neener neener we're SO UNBEARABLE."
It is all about bragging these days when a trophy is won, usually trying to rub your rivals noses in it. Henderson comes across as the biggest prick in that team, something about him which is very annoying.
That's pretty much what they're like ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Never mind celebrating, let's go and annoy the Everton fans. Like, we're not allowed to be happy about anything, we get a new manager and those twats start sneering about the ~power shift~.

'Now they've won the lot'

It was the trophy Liverpool was missing. They have been a successful club for many years and now they've won the lot.

ffs I’ve never really heard of it tbh
Er, I think not you dumb ****, you ain't won a PL title yet ....!

The pub world cup is a poor man's community shield ...

Cringeworthy are the responses from dippers and rags under any City article. We've a long way to go before we are anywhere near the top of that particular league.

The thread that involved throwing tennis balls on the pitch in protest was cringey, booing the anthem is cringey. Throwing our toys out the pram when losing a derby and behaving like animals was cringey. Other fans being cringey doesn’t change that we are the same now. You can have an opinion on levels of cringe but it doesn’t change where we are at. We’ve lost a lot of what we had about us before. Be that just modern football or not adapting to new found success.

Can you imagine if/when they win it,
The media shite will be unbearable

I’ll guarantee the BBC already have the World Champions bringing home the EPL trophy victory parade booked into their May tv schedule. When will these deluded dipper fans and sections of the media find some middle ground between outpourings of grief and denial and outpourings of gizm and show a bit of humility?
