Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

It's quite simple to control. You make sure people on our wanker list miss out on exclusives, briefs, steers - warning other members of the patch pack that they will also miss out if they do share it with them.

You don't give them a pass to the Sunday presser, you don't give the Sunday or Monday man a tunnel pass for post-match.

All they have is pooled access to Champions League under the rules, but our lads can just walk right on by.

You basically ensure they can't do their jobs and then they will have their desks suffering.

Some are good guys but they work for outlets that have nothing but scorn for our club.

Will City do this though?

“Pep is staying and will see out the remainder of his constract.” Quote: Soriano.

Pep Guardiola will see out Manchester City contract, insists chief executive Ferran Soriano

But Soriano said: “There’s not any particular plan at this time. The winter market is a challenging market – it’s very narrow, there’s not a lot of players in the market. We will see. But we don’t have any specific plan.”

I think there are too many variables at this stage to be able to say for certain that Pep will stay.

For example, if he wins the CL (unlikely but stranger things have happened) will Pep want to stay any longer?

If we win nothing this season and Pep doesn’t sign an extension, is it worth letting him stay for one year and rebuild the team in his image?

The ball is obviously in Pep’s court and the job seems to be his for as long as he wants it, I just feel a bit uneasy with a manager having so much control.

We need for once to get over our moral high ground. It just has never worked. Unless you're a wolf, you'll be eaten by the other wolves. We want to live in a world that doesn't exist and will never exist.

The best way for pep and city to shut the media up and shit stiring is for him to sign a contract extension. As that is not happening (atm) i get the feeling that pep isnt that keen on staying much longer. ( hope im wrong)

When we got Pep we knew anything over 3 years was a bonus. So 5 will be more than most of us expected.Hope he does extend but we need to prepare ourselves for next year being his last.

Thing is, I think he either goes this summer or stays more than one year. This summer needs a fairly big investment and overhaul in the squad and will be an extremely exciting summer for us I think. If peps is the one pulling the strings to that then why would he bugger of after one season of pulling it all together. Maybe wishful thinking on my part and instead he’ll be gone this summer but hopefully it’s more long term.

Definately won't go this summer. I don't think we do need a big overhaul and Txiki will buy the same players whether Pep extends or doesn't.

Pep and the club have stated numerous times that Pep will at least honour his contract. Pep has further stated that he will extend if he feels that he has earned it, that the players still follow him and He still has the energy.

Pep now with the help of the club has to rebuild and re-invigorate this squad.

I think at this moment Pep doesn’t know himself. What happens in the next 12 months will decided his future.

If we finish the season well, then get in 3-4 of our primary tartlets then has a decent season next year he stays...

If we fail to get our targets and be in a position to be challenging on all fronts then he will go.

It’s not decided yet. The club must know they have to support him now or lose him...

I think he will extend his contract. He will be given the players he wants In the summer. No way does a man who is winner walk away from this at this stage. He’s already looking to next season, and providing the board back him and why wouldn’t they, think he will rebuild the side. This is the biggest test he has had and I for one think he is up for it.

As a club if we let Pep go into next season without extending his contract it be another dead season and a lot of unrest! He has to either sign a new contract or he leaves this summer.

If the club isn’t careful the actual football will become a sideshow, players we pursue will want assurances about the managers future as will existing players when it comes to renewing contracts . It’s a recurring theme at press conferences now so you can imagine the scenario next season if nothing is settled.

Walked away from Barca.
