"Disappointing" attendances

I didn't go due to being in NZ but I wouldn't have gone anyway. It was going to be a 'walk over', I would have had a 10 hour round trip to watch us put to bed a poor Fulham side, probably parking the bus and kicking us off the park with no protection from p1ss poor officials and don't get me started on VAR. I can't be the only one feeling this way.

I only go about 4-5 times a year now but have to say the whole deal of getting there ,hanging about, sitting down (next to someone on their phone the entire game) ,getting dirty looks if you shout or sing ,hassle of getting back into town-well nowadays I'd rather swear at my TV or laptop in the comfort of my own home. Sorry but I did my stint in the Kippax for 4 decades when at least you could get a bus. I think we do have a good number of fans in their 50'-70's + who might think in the same way. I think there is too much football nowadays, & the City fanbase is not full of waddded tourists. The providers of the event need to look at the whole issue of price ,access and entertainment value.

The attendance comment is rising up the most important news stories on the BBC website. Above the Scousers cup disrespect. It'll probably be a ticker tape on all sports news programmes all next week. Brought up every time we are mentioned on breakfast sports. Adrian Durham will run a special couple of hours asking what's going wrong with our fans. Weekend discussion shows. All because of a snide interviewer and Pep not being savvy to swerve it. 39000 isn't bad. It's on f*cking free to air telly and Fulham who brought no fans. Before he has his press conference during the week our media team needs to have a word.

Routine home tie against lower league opponents - 39K is perfectly acceptable

Failing to sell out or near as damn it on Wednesday would signify to me that our support is changing. I can't imagine many bigger occasions than Wednesday night but I suppose your selfie taking, half n half scarf wearing, well off occasional visitor sees things differently

Don’t think it’s a piss poor attendance but let’s be honest its not good considering it was priced ok. People making excuses for not going which are obviously valid for some but let’s be honest £10 for an adult is dirt cheap to watch the greatest team in our history. Real Madrid nearly sold out so people have found the money just after Xmas for that .

Blimey, looks like my thread has caused a shitstorm! Just gives extra kudos to our song "Rotterdam" song folks.
