1917 film

It was ok. The kid who died seemed a bit fat to be a front line soldier.

A couple of posters have questioned the point of the French girl and baby. The way I see it, we know nothing of his personal life, yet the baby took to him and we saw different emotional reactions from him, perfectly in line with all the other emotions we experienced with him. I think that scene was there exactly to show that he was missing family life. And it gave the viewer chance to catch his or her breath, just like the character was able to. As I posted in another thread tonight, I don’t think any one scene in that film was unnecessary.
