The answer if Klopp would is NO. Lets have a look at Liverpool team of today..TAA yes one academy player who is a regular. You could argue Gomez but he only got in because Matip was injured and as soon as Matip is back 100% I expect Gomez to be back on the bench. We had no choice with Sancho don't forget he wasn't even 18 when he decided he wanted a move, not feasible for any team chasing the title to make them regulars at that age, as for the rest they would be cup players at best

Whether Gomez goes back to the bench or not is irrelevant because we've seen him have extended runs in the team; that is to say Gomez is actually part of Liverpool's first team picture. Pep can try kid us but Foden and Garcia are not part of the first team; no first team player plays the lack of minutes they have. And the case of Sancho is emblematic of our failings as a club when it comes to youths. Age is irrevelant when it comes to talent, Sancho was never going to be given the chance to showcase the talent he showed at youth level in any meaningful way at this club. Braaf will not either. Sancho saw the writing on the wall, these players are aware of the fact that this is not the right football team if you want an opportunity as a youngster. We don't even know if Garcia will be here in 18 months time. The only reason Foden is still here is because he's a City fan and we're so fortunate that that is the case.

Gomez had played a whole year of first team football at Charlton when Liverpool signed him. It's not quite the same as playing an academy player who has never played senior football.

That said with the league gone when we lost to Liverpool, the kids should have had some chances in the league.

Hope he's ruthless in ths summer and fucks off some of the mediocre players who have certainly been found out this season.

Stones
Otamendi
Zinchenko
Mendy always injured
Bravo

Sane because he wants to go
Silva leaving but it's the correct decision

We're carrying to many passengers and mentally weak players, get rid Pep and bring in 4/5 world class players. Spend fucking shit loads because that's all we get thrown at us anyway.

I'm still in the "he is the best we can get" camp, but if he doesn't intend to extend his contract, then I'm not keen watching team next year playing for manager they know they won't play the season after. That's usually a receipt for shit season.

In case of non-extending, I'd take pochettino in the summer.

Yeah the Gomez thing is probably somewhat similar to Hart I'd say in that both players had experience and then arrived at their club (one on loan and the other signed permanently). Saying that, I just couldn't ever imagine Pep doing what Mancini did with Hart and Given. Guardiola seems to be a slave to seniority and that doesn't bode well for young players.

Im clearly missing something - what has Poch achieved to become our next incumbent after Pep?

what has pep achieved before getting barcelona job?

Pochettino overachieved everywhere he has been and specially at Spurs. Took a club with president with snake in his pocket, made it regular CL members and then CL finalist with resources that aren't as big as his achievements.

Pep will go soon or sooner (no longer than next summer) and I can't see a better and safer manager to took over than Poch. Very good manager and playing style of football that wouldn't be a shock to our players after Pep. Some young promising guns over there, but if you question Poch's credentials, than talking about them is a no go.

OK, cheers

Poch isn't the answer, and the way it all ended at Spurs I wouldn't want him as replacement either. I would prefer Simeone if we want a complete change (although that prospect isn't bright either)

The problem is, Pep keeps on picking some of the mediocre players who have been found out on a consistent basis. He could quite easily refresh this squad by giving some others a good go, but he willingly chooses not to because he has too much respect for some of these players. I personally think we will see some of the dross holding on because of that.

I agree with that, you make some good points. Pep wants a settled team though and that's right too. Liverpool are the definition of a settled team, heleped by lack of injuries to key players.
I'm not sure how you can say Pep wants a settled team when he makes 4/5 changes every game. The only thing that is settled is Ederson, Sterling, Kev and Dinho play.

Exactly. For me, Pep can stay as long as he wants. But if he decides he's had enough then I'd be all over the Ajax guy.

lol. and what exactly had he achieved?

PS. I actually think he is good one, but if you question Poch's credentials, then how you could speak about guy who managed Ajax and lost from Poch's in the biggest game of their respective careers.

FFS, from Pep+s football to Simeone's, hahaha.

We'd need to change boot cleaners, let alone players.

Fucking hell mate, what a bizarre suggestion. And in a moment where it's finishing great for him at Atleti. Not. Their goal scoring record is on par with Pierce's City.

Pochettino's isnt style of play much better to be honest and doesn't win any trophies either.

Won their league last season. Got within a minute of the CL final with a young / inexpensive team playing a great brand of football. Good at bringing through youth.
So he has at least WON a trophy.

Yeah, winning the Eredivisie with Ajax is a huge thing. And btw, he lost from Poch in that last minute of CL semifinal. We did it round before.

Pochetinno's isnt much better,

well, it's worthless to discuss that, tbh, I'd leave it after next two sentences. Simeone made a great results with Atletico, but I'd never ever like to see him anywhere close to City. His teams play neanderthal football and are miles, miles away from the style our players are suited for. Unlike Pochettino's.

Think Ten Hag would be the most City like manager after Pep to continue the possession model the club has. Nagelsmann good option too. Thomas Tuchel as well. Luis Enrique maybe as well?

dont get the obsession with trophies. its all about which manager is the most suited to the club.

Txiki hired Rijkaard in 2003 who got relegated in Netherlands. 3 years later won the Champions League
