Carabao Cup Final Post-Match Thread

Villa kicked it out to allow, I assume, treatment for the injured player. No idea why we had to give it back, another stupid idea that has crept into the game. I understand if it's a head injury but it wasn't. Mason was shit all game and probably had a Villa top on underneath.
An absolute nothing injury, Grealish again I think straightening his hair. Pathetic.

The players played their part, full of smiles after the final whistle saved them from the Aston Villa onslaught that lasted for most of the 2nd half...Think you missed out the words injury time at the end of the sentence. Excellent piece of writing although I expect most of the so called expert journos wouldn't understand the tone.

And Strawberry Studios where, if I'm not mistaken, Joy Division recorded some of their seminal tracks. Good place, Stockport, for a shithouse. It was my local ‘big smoke’ when I was growing up in Hazel Grove. I distinctly remember revising for my 'A' levels (which I thought I ought to do, at some point) in the reading room of the public library.

Learned yesterday that 10cc was also from there and one of them wrote our Boys in blue song which surprised me..

46 years ago today, and City played in the League Cup Final, v Wolves. City were expected to win, but of course lost 2-1, with the Wolves understudy keeper having the game of his life, and Marsh missing an easy chance.
To compound a thoroughly miserable day, going back up the motorway the traffic ground to a halt and some idiot behind didn't see the queue and smashed into the back of my car, so I was stuck in the middle lane with a foul temper and unable to get off on to the hard shoulder. At least his insurance paid up.

Yesterday's result has to some extent exorcised my bad memories of March 2nd. I hope no one else had a bad road journey yesterday.
My dad has some pictures of him going to that, his hair down to his shoulders, bell bottoms the works oh how I laughed when he calls my fashion sense

Apologise then. I just thought it went out natuarally.
On the issue of the ref I thought it strange that if City had to use our change of colours then how come the ref wore sky blue!
