At least the BBC has its priorities right as on its main page in the 'More top stories' section, just below the three main headline news articles, a link to a story about Igloo saving up his pocket money to watch manyoo when he was a kid takes centre stage.

So many just don't get this, and are assuming what China did has worked, it might have cut numbers, and while they celebrate that, how many will catch it once they "free" everyone ?

Its no going away in the next 3 or 4 weeks, and probably not 3 or 4 months either.

Flu kills between 290,000 and 650,000 annually, but I don't see Prime Ministers going on national television to inform us that many of us are going to lose family members over that.

If football has any common sense whatsoever (I know... ) if the game has to be halted then all they need to do is suspend the season and finish it once things return to normal once more. If they are daft enough to cancel it altogether, then current league placings should be honoured accordingly.

As far as our league is concerned, no one is getting near Liverpool. It was won in all but name ages ago. If a team 25 points ahead does not get awarded the title then there would be absolute uproar that would have serious repercussions within the game. Voiding the whole thing would be complete lunacy and, in my humble opinion, is simply not going to happen.

If necessary, just suspend current tournaments and resume when possible."

After all there can only ever be a few top dogs, and when you get above 36000 posts the knives are bound to be sharpened ( watch out for Brutus).

Boris maybe a tit but he is working on the advice of the experts led by the chief medical officer and chief scientist. To me it is clear that they want people to get it to create herd immunity but, to protect the vulnerable hence the message today. Shutting schools will not stop kids mixing and will drive them to grandparents, the most vulnerable. So if you get symptoms self-isolate for 7 days it’s the first 4 you are most contagious after that you are relevantly safe They need to slow down the peak and hopefully reduce it to help the NHS cope

Yep. It’s delusional of authorities to think that this will somehow disappear in a week or two. I cannot believe how slow the PL have been to make the call. I woke this morning (Australia) to see that the PL said all games this weekend are going ahead as planned. Clearly this is a case of Wealth before Health as another member put it.
