The irony is, that bell curve the CMO presented yesterday as his justification for carrying on as normal and not banning mass gatherings, is the exact same bell curve that Barack Obama tweeted last night to JUSTIFY the banning of mass gatherings.
As I said earlier, their only justification for not implementing a lock down right now is that they've read a behavioural science report that says if you isolate people too early, they'll get bored. That's not good enough for me.
Jesus Christ I hope you heard wrong. That would be roughly a trebling of our daily new cases in 2 days if true.798 confirmed,no more testing if i heard sky right just then
100%. I wonder if they're encouraging their own families to be the guinea pigs?I think they want as many people as possible to get it, and thus get immunity, whilst protecting the old. They want to manage the epidemic. They don't think it's possible to wipe it out
many other countries have stopped a majority of testing. only testing those who are hospitalised. is this what the UK are doing now?

This is going to have far reaching consequences for the nature of healthcare in our country I think. Consequences for the next 50 years.
The more left wing supporters will use the inevitable "problems" as a platform to claim that they were right all along and that NHS has been chronically and systematically underfunded for a decade or more and that it needs a step chance in investment levels. And the more right wing will suggest that the nature of one big state-run monolithic organisation is unfit for purpose and needs wholesale restructuring and much greater involvement from the private sector.
Any which way, I think the NHS is going to be very different in years to come, as a result of what's about to happen.

A rise of 200 ish? Seems to be increasing by around 35% each day? So my guess is an increase of almost 280 tomorrow and passing 1,000 in total. Will be roughly 5k next weekend798 confirmed,no more testing if i heard sky right just then

Those are rhetorical questions I know, but it's actually a very swiftly-applied and straightforward process.
Aaand strike three for Godwin's law! We're on a roll here ladies and gents.
Or at least become so worried by the real risks posed by egoistical actions, that the ones not respecting the community laws risk lynching.

Might have misheard that bit as i just caught the endNo more testing?
Who will do the testing? Getting tested is as much on those who think they are infected to actually go and do it. Yet the advice is not to because it will overload the health system.
The government want this to pass through the population, the majority will pass it off no problem, but this strategy obviously skews the figures in that many more are infected than is being reported.
The death rate is key for this government. If it’s as low as they anticipate and 90% of that is the elderly and those with health issues already, they won’t give 2 fucks.
At this point, it isn’t. The fears of many health officials are likely to be realised and COVID-19 is likely to become endemic.I think they want as many people as possible to get it, and thus get immunity, whilst protecting the old.
