One thing they could do is pump some extra bodies into the supermarkets - try getting a delivery or click and collect at your local Tesco in the next couple of weeks. If the Government advice is to be followed its these practical things that need to be available. Extra bodies - students, older school kids, packing orders. Why not? There should be a special service for those self isolating or in lockdown.

Same here bud, scratchy throat and has turned into a hard to shift cough for about three weeks but no other symptoms. Coughing isn't continuous for an hour, on three separate occasions for 24 hours, as per the current 111 advice.

Zero temperature and decent appetite.

The fact I have had it for a while, our BM medical experts have assured me I am all good ;)
 
I think the effects of all the closures , people not being able to work will quite possibly be as catastrophic as the bloody virus It’s the poorer that will suffer first and most !

First, you’ve not pointed out where I have belittled anyone, so I think it is fair to say your original assertion was not accurate.

Second, I didn’t say he couldn’t post however he liked, I was indicating why I thought his post was not needed, misguided and unhelpful. Which is my right based on your stance.

You seem to just dislike my posts in here given your previous posts about and to me, to be honest, and there’s not much I can do about that other then challenge your inaccurate statements directly via civil discourse, as I am now.

And I’m sure my sister and step dad, who live with my mum, would have it by now if it was.
 
Italy has had its highest number of deaths from coronavirus in a day with 475 more fatalities.

The deaths - an increase of 19% in the last 24 hours - brings the country's total to 2,978.

Italy also had a large rise in coronavirus cases, with 4,207 confirmed on Wednesday, bringing the total to 35,713, the Civil Protection Agency said

The hardest hit nation outside China has been on total lockdown since 9 March.

It is fast approaching the number of people who have died in China, which as of Wednesday was 3,241 - although at 81,102 China has far more confirmed cases

Experts are warning the peak of the spread may not arrive until mid-April in the north, so far the country's hardest hit area, and possibly later in other regions.

"Citizens must know that this is not about changing their lifestyle just for one or two weeks," said the head of the Italian national centre for epidemiology, Stefania Salmaso

Do wish you’d quote. I keep reading such posts and for some reason start taking it personally. Suddenly feel guilty about having offended someone. :-)

Daughter has just been offered full time hours at Asda. She is currently doing her final year in a levels. Looks like the exams will be cancelled so hopfully she will pick up more than her 16 contracted hours per week. Loads of staff in self isolation, plus loads of extra work re stocking the shelves.
 
I'd love to know how the German's are counting their deaths. Are they only counting those that died of the virus that didn't have any other health problems to put the death down to?

Self isolating now. Schools should be closed now, not Friday. 2 more days, more sick teachers.

I think apart from the groups mentioned the majority of parents if they can manage it will have their kids out from now.

I know I would.
 
Well I’m working from home luckily for the foreseeable and now have two boys at home. My wife is still working as a school for autistic/special needs school. She only started in January so don’t think she’ll get paid if the school closes and she only works 4hrs a day as a TA.

She loves working there but will need to very careful.
 
Shut schools and half the parents will treat it like the summer holidays and take their little darlings out every day.
I understand the decision but if people think many parents are going to stay in 24-7 with their kids for what might be months, they're mistaken

I have had similar for last 5 days but no other symptoms so had put it down to smoking my body weight in weed.
I did read that headaches could be a symptom but not as a stand-alone but something you could get along with the main signs.

on another note just had a bar owner call me to say they’ve been told the dates have been put back to 12th April for closures. Not seen anything official yet.

Are the British that much more idiotic than people on mainland Europe?
You don't necessarily need the army. Close all shops apart from food, close pubs, cinemas etc and the people you mention will have nowhere to go.

I'm very proud of her and people like her.

And earning less than £12k a year for the privilege as she job shares.

Her wages aren't going to keep us going for long either :(
