Adapt, Improvise, overcome.
One of the side jobs I do is voice over for all our company training videos. We normally record using a purpose built professional sound booth at work. As we are all working from home I've been testing places where I can get similar quality at home.
I'm going to spend a large part of today talking into my tumble drier full of clothes with my mic buried in them!!!!

talking of voice overs I was so taken back last night when I heard the government advert on the Coronavirus with the introductory voice they used, it sounded so similar in depth and speed to those really creepy ones they did for AIDS kills campaign in the 80s where the tombstone falls over. deliberate?

Now that is serious - this fellow worker's boss should be called in pronto. If we were over the channel she'd be in chokey by now ...

She banging on that we work outside but she has been near us and how does she stop the public being close if she is litter picking ....selfish cow.. my missus is diabetic

Just got to work a fellow worker has said her son has woke up with with the sweats and sore throat but she has come to work.....its kick of big time with us saying she should be at home but she thinks it's not necessary....
And there will be hundreds of thousands of these situations up and down the country, with most not revealing that someone in their family has symptoms. As much as those at the top are failing us, the general population is failing itself too. In two weeks when they’ll be hoping to see the spiralling figures start to slow as a result of these measures, they won’t understand why it’s still getting worse. Been saying for weeks our country is inhabited by too many morons for us to fight this virus effectively. There needs to be some aggression from Boris. Some extreme sanctions for anyone not complying. Because people will not make the right decisions themselves. They have to be faced with no alternative.

Can’t win really, then you have gobshites like the several ones in this thread saying they knew who’d end up self isolating etc.

A lot of military employees with loose lips.
"UP TO 20,000 military personnel are on standby in a new COVID Support Force designed to support Britain's overstretched health service and supply chains."

Note 10,000 are normally on standby for domestic civil contingencies.

"Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said the Armed Forces are “dedicated to getting the nation through this global pandemic”. The Ministry of Defence initially had 10,000 personnel on standby, but yesterday sources revealed an additional “five to ten thousand” are getting to respond to the crisis. Senior military sources say they are getting ready in case there an influx of requests for help from other services.

You need to hammer home that she’s putting lives at risk.

What a stupid ****.

Just found out that she didnt tell the lad who pick her up in his car and that lad has been sitting next to us because he didnt know .....this is bloody stupid so the whole work force might have it now I guess ? There only 6 of us

Do you really think they'll force companies to shut down ?
Sorry if this is common knowledge, not sure what to believe anymore
Judging by the pictures my sister has just sent me of Halton Army Camp down the road from Lancaster. I would be very surprised if there wasn't a lock down relatively soon yeah.

See if you can get advice on that from 111 if your mrs is diabetic they may be able to quantify the risk better for you. I am still unsure if the risk on diabetes is specific to 1 and 2 which I can’t find online as I have a friend who is diabetic but he’s a bit yeah it’s just the flu type of mentality so am a bit worried for him. Hard to know where to draw the line in giving advice.

Fucking hell.

I’m presuming everyone is going mental at her.

So someone has just come into the office off the shop floor and gleefully asked me "So when are we going into lockdown?". I told him it could well happen by the weekend and he's under the impression that if it does then our works will have to close. Told him that it wouldn't - unless one of us contracts it of course - and people would still be able to go to work. He was smug as fuck and told me that wouldn't be the case, and only the emergency services would be allowed to work. Tried explaining that even though France is in lockdown, people are still allowed to go to work so why would it be any different here? (I'll add that we deal with some French companies and it seems there are restrictions on the numbers that are allowed in offices but they are still working). I just finished off by saying that I didn't realise he was that desperate for 2 weeks off work!
