What has this got to do with English football?

Would you prefer that the other divisions collapse and fuck off Colin?

All that history up in smoke, it is hard to say what you are really getting at tbh what with the scant explanation in your one sentence post.

As for Spain, they have more than two divisions, they have Segunda B that has 4 groups that still get promoted to La Liga Smartbank( or also known as Segunda Division)

Italy has 3 - Serie C

For what it's worth.
I was responding to the point that football wouldn't exist if we were reduced to the PL and half the Championship. It would, and it does in other countries where they don't have 4 professional leagues. It's been clear for some time that some EFL clubs have been living well beyond their means. Football would still be healthy (and might even be healthier) if we had two professional leagues with the current Leagues 1 & 2, and maybe the National League, being split into semi-pro (or even remaining as professional) regional leagues with far better financial regulation than currently exists.

Manchester City could end up seeing their UEFA sanction suspended, if a decision isn’t made by August 26th. If a decision hasn’t been made by then, ‘it is possible’ that City can ‘obtain an extension of the punishment’ and delay it

Ferran Soriano was confident that the appeal would be resolved by the summer, but now has ‘a better plan’. He intends to ‘legally demand’ that the sanction not take effect until CAS have been able to make a decision

I agree with you Colin, but what a national outcry that would be! Some clubs would want our money and be nice to us then eh?

That's interesting, rather than keeping it in house with City asking UEFA for a stay of execution, pending the CAS appeal, it seems we're going outside and getting lawyers to obtain a legally binding extension, no idea what jurisdiction or why this is significant, maybe our resident blue moon legal eagles might enlighten us.

If true, and if CAS agree, it would seem a good move imo ( not itk so no shit please ) in so far as we would seem to making our position very clear instead of waiting to be told by UEFA what is to happen.

The cnuts seem very good at telling us what we can or cannot do , whether we are guilty or not of one of their " crimes " .

There's an exclusive in the athletic that uefa are going to relax ffp regulations in light of coronavirus crisis which makes sense but shows what hypocrites they are.

FFP will be no more. Be lucky if you get any sponsorship deals after this. It will be up to us the fans, the little guys to get football out of the shit

Amen, there simply is neither the GDP, or population to support 92 teams and their associated personnel.

A bit like one can “legally demand” representation by a solicitor and a trial?

The point then is they have never had what we have had so it is not really relevant to bring those leagues into that discussion, for one the Spanish devalue their own league by allowing teams to field a reserve team in it that can't actually get promoted, great for the main club allowing their youth to be prepared for first team football in a decent standard of football but hardly fair to the teams that do not have this option to do so.

I would hate football if all we had left was the Premier League, that isn't the football I grew up with and it would be devastating for fans of those clubs to be just scrubbed of proper league status.

I am amazed that you would support this notion.

Still, at least we could have 19 youth teams this way I guess

So they’ll amend and bend rules for the sake of other clubs to help them through this difficult time. But you can bet you’re bottom dollar we will be dealt with by the old rules which “we broke at the time”

Obviously .

Can't have City sticking two fingers to the cheating bastards .

As every day goes by the sport of football loses money. The gravy train has run dry, just when it looked unstoppable.

As everyday goes by the sport of football and it’s owners, governing bodies and parasites need Sheikh Mansour a little bit more. I strongly suspect that the penny is dropping now in lots of places that an industry which refuses outside investment is an industry of idiots, and that some people are about to reap what they sewed when they bit the hand that fed them. There aren’t enough metaphors in the worlds.
