Fortunately most head to Benidorm after they get off their flights. We’re in the opposite direction on the Orihuela Costa - you get a better class of dickhead around these parts. Cabo Roig is a bit rough though... :-)

I think in a few months when we've been in proper lockdown for 7 weeks, people will look back at this phase of soft-lockdown like it was the good old days, but also understand why it was a good idea to bring it in gradually - which is what other countries like Germany are doing too.

We probably will go that extra 10% of the way to much fanfare but the streets, pubs, clubs, football ground etc are more or less empty as it is.

Rather than spend a huge effort throwing the whole of society into isolation, the whole of society or significant part of it should be implementing a mass testing regime to find who has the infection, and then trace all their contacts and test them. That is WHO guidance and that is what has been shown to work.

I guess do both but we must spare some resource for testing.

According to a BBC report the boss of Wetherspoon's says a shutdown would be 'over the top'...yes I suppose it's something he would say, but given what's actually going on in the real world, he shouldn't be saying that at all. I suppose it'll be Friday night as 'usual' for some and with his blessing, as long as they keep to the social distancing requirements all will be ok?!! I Do not understand it at all.

Incidently they took a trailer with them that was full of all the stuff they have ransacked from local supermarkets and get this they even took a chest freezer with them. I despair, I really do.

Put it this way, my girlfriend works for the nhs and is pregnant. She has been self isolating due to recommendations from Boris and her midwife, even more so because she has asthma too.

she has been called today telling her she has to return to work. Whilst Boris is saying pregnant people should stay at home, until there is any legislation change then it cannot be forced. So she’s been told she needs to return straight to work, if she passes the spray test she will be sent straight to the corona virus ward at stepping hill. It’s all an absolute shambles from top to bottom.

As I said yesterday was zero update on everything. Nothing had changed so that was a day of putting plans in place for people. Patience is needed but when it seems they are moving slowly on every aspect of this it doesn’t give you much faith that they will come through.

Spain's new cases are massively down if the figures on worldometer are correct. they have it as 1,903 when it was 3,308 yesterday.

I hope that that is genuine. That would be the first sign of it braking but it might not be accurate.

It's only one day's data and could end up being wrong but at the moment they are showing a big fall in the number of new cases which is exactly what everyone is looking for. If its true, expect the media to pick up on it.

Not sure what procedure Spain follows when declaring figures but other countries - including the UK - aren't always announcing them all in one go each day. Hopefully that's Spain's final figure for today

No threat of sack, waiting on a call back after they’ve spoke to occupational health. Also had a sore throat and cough start of the week which she mentioned, the response was if it’s no worse just come in you’ll be fine. Now I know they will be stretched but they’re taking stupid risks to their staff and also themselves if they are happy for someone who’s got symptoms to resume to work.

Been about 8 times in the last two years always stay at hotel Gran Playa and have a visit to Elche another good trip,in our holiday home in Norfolk at the moment bit different but away from the crowds.
