If the govt wanted none-essential work to stop they would surely have said so. They didn't. They specified retail.

This is the consequence. It all fits their gradualist approach.

The only people moving around should be front line workers ie nhs etc. By not doing this not only are we spreading the virus, we are putting all our front line workers at a higher and unnecessary risk. Shut every thing now apart from front line and the government needs to spell out who and what front line staff our from nhs, to food , medicine workers etc .

Where did he mention building sites?

What is closed is the non essential retail sector. All other business is open but expected to move to working from home wherever possible and use social distancing wherever possible. People using the term "lockdown" are giving a false impression of the policy. I have linked the government guidance a couple of times but I guess people are just not willing to look for the facts. Here it is again: https://assets.publishing.service.g..._staying_at_home_and_away_from_others__1_.pdf

And for those who can't be arsed to click on the link here is the text:

I have posted already that I missed heard ;) happy to have this pointed out to me :)

Has anyone seen the tweet from West Brom? Basically a demonstration of how many people you can infect using a 10 pass move they scored from earlier in the season. It starts with 1 person, then rises to 3 after the first pass and then by the time the 10th pass is made and they score the goal the count is up to 60,000 people. Very clever.

I work for a major worldwide company. I am installing some machinery in a local factory next week which is expected to run for 2 and half weeks. I E mailed my boss asking what's going on as I would of thought the factory would close after the news. He's just replied it's business as usual. So that's about 800 staff walking around the shop floor then. What is the point.!!!
Pounds before people pure and simple and one can only hopes karma visits the twats that are enforcing all non essential workers to attend work under threat of no pay or worse at a time when the world should be pulling together.

On top of that, why aren’t Tube managers/staff limiting the numbers per carriage?

Not sure how you could do that, as there aren't enough staff to do it.
If they're on the platform, the platform gets crowded.
If they're not on the platform, the foyer gets crowded.

Also, if you're in a more inner station, you'd never get on.

Good old Jimmy adding to the confusion in a bid to show power. She is deliberately making her speeches before the PM every day. But it's her little piece of the pie and she can do as she wishes.

I’m no Jimmy fan but her tone is more decisive than BJs. Boris is an affable bloke but i think that’s part of the problem. I noticed he was carefully scripted last night and was much better but in previous days he was almost apologising for having to be a twat. Jimmy is comfortable being a twat.

I wonder who was Mayor of London when station staff numbers were decimated on the tube? Wasn’t Khan or Livingstone - it was some other bloke.

It just goes to show how shit government is when one branch of government, the armed forces, has a stockpile of NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) equipment that another branch, the NHS, could have used to protect it's staff till more patient friendly equipment was available.
