COVID-19 — Coronavirus

Karen,
I asked my daughter about this (she's a Care of the Elderly Registrar) and she said
- You are highly lightly to be imune until the virus mutates.
- That said their are a couple of cases in Japan and China were a person has caught it again. So there is a very small chance of you getting sick again let's say 3/83,200.
- The virus has already mutated in to the more virulent L strain from the original S strain so that maybe the reason for the people getting ill twice.
70% of infection is with the L strain.
- This is where herd immunity kicks in. If it mutates again the body is more likely to counter a new strain if it has already had the previous strain.
Will it mutate for Winter?
- We dont know but maybe.
The most worrying thing is if the virus has an RNA party in cells effected by Coronavirus and a Common Cold virus. If it acquires the ability to change its spikes like the common cold does then any vaccine could be useless due to rapid mutation.
An interesting article with links:

Thank you lovely,i will have a read

Italy did a number of things wrong (disasterously so) early on in the outbreak. They allowed the virus to expand across Lombardy & elsewhere without realising it was present, various hospitals then exacerbated the problem and they initially fucked up the lockdown by allowing people to leave the zone before making it nationwide. Hopefully they are on the cusp of getting on top of it now.

With luck we haven't fucked up so badly with our measures to date.

The first cases in the UK were weeks ago. What did the government do to restrict travel in the early days, or even now, to make you think in that sense it will be any different? In fact the UK has had fewer restrictions than Italy for a lot longer.

what is that based on?? There’s pretty much nothing to go off, other then China who are clearly lying about figures.

and Even if it does go down in the next few weeks it could easily go back up again during winter
They’ll definitely be 2nd and 3rd waves until a vaccine is freely available worldwide. Looking at 12-18 months for that.

Each and everyone should boycott Sports direct the way The Geordies do

Ashley is a fucking crook
Can we add weatherspoons and virgin to this boycott, would be hard pushed to find 3 bigger twats during this crisis than Ashley, Martin & Branson. Plus if it got traction before dickie b got his 10bn + gov bail out then he might not get it as virgin would no longer be a viable sustainable business in the aftermath.

Yep, just got to hope they find an effective treatment in the interim. That and there's a few things they're looking at in terms of reducing the chance of infection as well as social distancing for people that have no choice but to be around others (antiviral snoods was one on the BBC earlier that looked like a good idea)

Add Britannia Hotels to the list . Horrible company

The economics of Coronavirus: Illegal dog walking markets have sprung up in Spain. People are renting their dogs so they can be taken for walks, allowing multiple "customers" to go outside; its one of the few reasons people can leave their homes.

Going rate per dog is 34/45 euros per hour.

Virgin media threatening penaltiy charges if you don't make a payment

Lombardy is the main reason for the high number of deaths there, they tried to lockdown and thousands of people left before it was enforced. I don’t think we’ve had that situation here, probably why the Govt have stressed London won’t have a complete lockdown by itself.

I have real doubts about the Governments underlying conditions line, As far as I know there has not been 1 death associated to a previously fit and healthy person. In Italy they have doctors an nurses dying from this virus.
After 400+ deaths and an age range of 18 to 100+ I just find it hard to accept.
Doctors and nurses can have health issues.

Yeah, that's really fishy, what ever your choice of media outlet, that's the one line peddled out, every single time!
Sounds like some kind of get out clause implemented by the powers that be.
Non peer reviewed research from China says Group O blood means you're somewhat less likely to get it and Group A more likely. It didn't specify A negative...

In think a fair few buggered off to Cornwall. I know someone who lives there and she has just said loads still trying to drive in but police are turning them back.

It's based on, like I said, if the italy figures continue to show the rate of new cases are reducing and basic maths...

Yes it could go back up with a second wave, I was only talking about the current trend.

Rate of new cases and basic maths..... they aren’t testing everyone in Italy.... it also will increase when southern regions get more infections.

death rate/ virus rate only really started going down in 48 hours and then went back up again. It’s impossible to predict
